No, Clown would have found some other way to f it up against a lackluster Gus Bus team. He'd have screwed up timeouts or clock management while pointing to a spot on the sideline where a kick went out of bounds or some other such nonsense.
you could also say UCF beats us worse if their 300 pound lineman had better ball security with a guy half his size walking him down at the goal line.

As it is, I'm glad someone is taking charge of special teams.
Hell, if they spend an hour and a half on the Miami butt punt, that;s OK too - so long as they use it in the what not to do film session. Kind of how not to be seen.
 
i would have done away with the punt team a told Long we are going for every 4th down and nothing but 2 point conversions, as well.

There's a high school in TX or Midwest that does this very successfully.

I'd feel even better if we spend 2 1/2 hours actually practicing punts than meeting about it...

Kevin Kelley (the guy you’re referring to) got hired to coach at Presbyterian College last year. He ended up resigning after a single 2-9 season, including a 72-0 loss to Campbell. They allowed 50+ points in 6 straight games to end the season.

I still think it’s an interesting concept, but the one year we saw at the collegiate level wasn’t exactly a big success.
