I was over on gojackets.com and one of the headlines says new favorites for cedric everson...I am not subscribed and I underestand that I haven't paid for the info so if no one wants to tell me anything then it's fine, but I was just wondering if the new favorites include/exclude Tech?

I noticed it as well - it looks like some of the higher profile teams have been removed from his list (Notre Dame, USC).

It's been rumored on other boards (Ohio St) that his reputation has been built more on the message boards than on the football field. But there are stats and video out there - I guess stats could be made up but video would be pretty tough to do.

It will be interesting to see how his recruitment turns out.

He states that his second favorite school now ...

Is UCLA behind his number 1 school which is Ga Tech. When
asked what was so special about Tech his response was, "The
campus was real cool & the coaches were great. The players
were fun & friendly & it felt right at home there." Now I
didn't quote his statement word for word & maybe shouldn't
have used quotation marks, but that is the gist of what
he said.

We definitely are leaders for his services but he still
plans on going out west & checking out UCLA & USC. Hey,
who wouldn't. He plans on making his choice before his
senior season starts. I say he's ours to lose. Based on
everything I've seen & read he should be at least a 4 star,
for those of you that care about those such things.

Re: He states that his second favorite school now ...

Rumor is that he could be the #1 recruit out of Michigan if I read correctly. Don't think it was on the premium board.

Regardless - if he's high profile, it can only help recruiting. The group has really shot very high so far, with positive results and responses.

If he had interest in OSU, they would be falling over themselves.

If he had interest in OSU he'd already have 2 new cars, a managerial position for his mom, and some bling for his ears, neck and fingers. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugher.gif

Over on the Hive....Master B is stating that Cedric Everson's family is solidly Pro-Tech and that apparently Everson did not go on a planned UCLA-USC visit this past weekend.

So far so good!

Rivals just posted an interview with Cedric that confirmed he did not go on the trip out west, but said that he would eventually. He said his top three are UCLA, GT, and Penn State. He also said that he now plans on taking all 5 of his visits before making a decision.

This kid is going to be one of those frustrating ones to follow. I am just going to write it off and be pleasantly surprised if it happens.

Is a tough situation for a kid...I mean to be so talented at your position & to have so MANY colleges beating down your door! It would be extremely difficult for 90%+ of us to stay humble & not take advantage & opportunity to travel the COUNTRY on someone elses DOLLAR to hear them tell you how great you were & how they would love for you to play for them.... IT'S become the trend/norm for this to happen in most cases & to keep everyone guessing until the last minute....Some kids think & begin to believe that it is all about them & they'll do it on their schedule when they're ready......is really tough on recruiting & on the coaching staff....... DISCLAIMER: not saying that this is what CEDRIC is doing but would be hard to blame him if he did do it....he's a HIGH TALENT & wants to enjoy the RIDE...so LET THE BLUE CHIPS FALL WHERE THEY MAY!!! (hope to see him in the flats myself) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/twocents.gif

The tough part is we cannot afford to wait on kids this year since we can only have 79 scholarships on roster. We need to fill all 79.

If we could have 85, you could hold one or two at the end and roll the dice. If you lose, you still have 83 or 84 which is not the end of the world.

This is going to be interesting to watch unfold, some tough decisions will have to be made.

Hivered- I agree we're caught b/w a ROCK n HARD place. I hope the guys we've offerred get the sense of urgency & understand the situation we are facing....W/o a doubt there will be some left on the outside looking in b/c they wait too long to let their intentions be known.... Our coaches are going to have to use a balanced approach firm enough to let em know we need to know ASAP & yet not too hard to scare 'em off.....I wouldn't want to be walking that tightrope..... I hope that it works out for the best in the VAST majority of our situations.

I lived for two years right off the UCLA campus. It's nice but nothing to write home about. Same with the football. I went to a couple of games and everyone kinda cheered but people weren't really very into it. UCLA has nothing on GT that I could see having lived there...
