it is a nice change of pace on this board, since people here generally recognize ,everything is not beautiful and we are allowed to say it. blind loyalty can become blind stupidity.

This board has its own personality.
Much better FB discussions IMO, and a LOT less BS.
I've gotten to where I rarely post on the Hive, have gotten so sick of the "Hall Monitors" who's express mission is to determine whats an acceptable post and whats not....sigh

There are still plenty of ex-hivers on here that cannot stand a TECH fan to have a different opinion than their own, but that is ok.
The monitors on this board deserve a lot of credit for not bowing down to the pressure of censorship...and they can see the board starting to thrive because of it....as I told them it would.

Fortunately, as I have posted before, there appears
to be less need for mods or "hall monitors" here.
Its fine to wrap yourself in a cloak or righteousness
and preach about free speech and etc. But there is
also a fine line between allowing people to voice
their opinions and allowing people to use the forum
to bash or attack others in an anonymous (and often
too safe) venue.
If noone posted anything they wouldn't say to
someone's face, there would be no need for mods.
You will never read anything in one of my posts
that I would not say to someone personally at a
tailgate.

Well, God knows that lately I've had my verbal spats with Beeware. So, I haven't contributed much to overall atmosphere here today.
This is a good board. So is the Hive. I wish people wouldn't make it an anti-Hive kind of board. It's good for a school like Tech to have 2 boards. We've got enough football fanatics for both of these boards to thrive. Also, keep in mind that the Hive has alot more traffic and more crap gets thrown around over there because of it.
Beeware, I'm gonna bury the hatchet with you. Let's face it. We don't agree on anything and we don't like each other. I can live with that. But the name-calling needs to stop. Today, I contributed greatly to that and I'm gonna stop the name-calling on my end. I'd appreciate it if you'd do the same.

I don't even know you...how can I make an opinion of whether I like you or not. I wouldn't take things so personal if I were you.
I get these mindless attacks all the time and have been called every name in the book. So what? It says a lot more about people who cannot tolerate a different opinion than it does about me. I have my opinion and you have yours. What is the problem?
Read my posts and then read the responses. Actually read them and think about them and see who does the name calling.

BeeStorm And gtfan are to be commended for keeping an open board with few restraints on us idiots that want to rant from time to time. It is also refreshing to visit a board that is not infested with a rash of self appointed thought police that try to impose their views on others. I
feel as others that we shouldn't use this board as a forum to slam the hive but I can say without reservation that the atmosphere is much better on this board. I know that it doesn't bother me in the least for others to disagree with me as long as they are civil and are open to the fact that
it is possible that they themself could be wrong.

We have always been against censorship. It's nothing new.</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">I didn't say it was something new...but when you all were getting very close to changing your philosophy....I stated that you all shouldn't do that.. and you didn't... and the board is thriving. Good for you all.
Many of you know how much I love Tech football and that I am behind our coaches and players 100%. If Tech does not get things done over the next couple of years, things will work themselves out like they do at all high profile D1 schools. Until then, giving everyone time to develop and achieve their potential is paramount for the future of our beloved program. I will confess though that I have no patience for people like beeware on this board. He is simply a MOLE and I always see him that way. Tech does not need fans like that and I truly wish he would find another program to berate. You are no good beeware and don't deserve to be in the same stadium as I on Saturdays.

I dont think that is a call you get to make. I assure you that in a stadium that holds 55K you are going to have some idiots, convicted felons, probably some rapists, and many immoral and amoral people.
If he (or anybody) pays that $26 he may be sitting right next to you.

I no longer visit The Hive. Could care less if it thrives or folds up down the road. I LIKE many of the people who post there regularly but the censorship out of "self-righteousness" was too much to bear. I agree the population became 'too large' and quickly deteriorated beyond 'J's control. I truly believe 'J' started something that was much needed and fantastic for Georgia Tech, but this board is head and shoulders above The Hive when it comes to debating the issues of athletics. Wouldn't mind seeing JOJATEK and AFR JACKET find their way over here but who knows, eventually it might happen.
