CFB Rivalry Survey

UGA >VT > Clemson > Duke

When I read books about Tech football I always saw a lot of Duke rivalry and it seems that matchup is growing back to not being one sided

actually it is still one sided just in favor of DUKE

I went 94 UGA
Clemson 1
FSU 1
Auburn 1
Alabama 1
GA Southern 1
VPI 1

According to their data Duke and UNC is one of the top 10 unbalanced rivalries where one team thinks the other is a bigger rival. Tech/UGA is on there for unbalance but that makes sense since I hear UGA fans say they have bigger rivals but that Duke/UNC listing is very odd.

only thought I can have is one team must have listed more rivals so there is less rating on a particular team while the other team has 1 or 2 rivals.

EDIT: that seems to be the case. Duke listed r rivals NC state and UNC. UNC listed nearly the whole ACC haha

Funniest thing to me was seeing that ECU considers VT a rival now.

I would not mind if my child became a(n) Georgia football fan.

I would not have a child.

This survey should probably have a category for things like UGA fans. Mouth-breathers don't consider us their big rival, but they certainly, more than anything else, do not want to lose to us.

A better way to question it would be - First, which team do you most want your school to beat? Second, which school do you most want your school not to lose to?

I voted all 100 points for UGA. I couldn't put more than that. I tried.

We're not really anybody's rival it seems. We're uga's 2nd biggest rival by 20.9 points then clemson's 7.59 then vt by 6.05.

That really blows.

Meh, that doesn't mean a whole lot.

Clemson hates USC as much as we hate UGA. They also have FSU, which has become a big rivalry first with the Bowden connection and then with the de facto division championship every time they play. Trust me, Clemson sees GT as a rival.

VT was in the Big East, so they've still got some residual rivalries from that era. As time passes, if the division title keeps rotating back and forth, that number will grow.

Seems to me the right way to gauge rivalry is Dutch Auction style: how many Wins would you trade in order to flip a Loss to your rival into a Win? In other words, are you a member of the 1-11 Club... or just the 4-8 Club... or maybe the 11-1 Club (loss means the same or less than any other).

Last year didn't one of the UGA players say they practiced for the triple option on their two bye weeks, even though they had South Carolina and Florida coming up? Anyone have that link? Yeah, they totally don't care at all. It makes it even better that they lost the two games following their bye weeks.

Link? I'd love to read/see/hear this.

"It's kind of annoying, because it's not the football that we're used to playing," Damian Swann said. "We had a couple of days during camp and a couple of days during the bye weeks to prepare for it, but this is the one week you have to take everything you've learned as far as formations and techniques and throw that out the window, because you're playing a different style of football."

Said Jenkins: "We prepared for Tech in camp. We prepared for Tech during both of our open dates, and it's really just to get all of us accustomed to getting cut by them."
