ultimately he will be judged how the team performs. I think this is good for GT and good for Billy. I appreciate all his hard work. GT reaped the benefits for many years however sometimes in life you have to move on. I wish him all the best.

Godspeed

Godspeed Billy

Yes, Godspeed....

he was our recruiting coordinator during during our successful years and then was running backs coach.

All this was while Fridge was steering the ship, but from what I understand he is a "tireless" worker ala Gruden.

It would not surprise me at all for Billy to leave here and have enormous success. But we hired a tenured NFL offensive coordinator. He has his own style and should be allowed to bring in his own people.

Law - I agree totally, Chan should be allowed to succeed or fail with his own people and his own offense.

my biggest problem with Dave Braine to date was that Braine foisted both Roof and O'Brien upon Gailey after O'Leary left for ND.

keep in mind that Roof and O'Brien would have been in Notre Dame had O'Leary not lied on his resume.

thankfully, Gailey realized that Roof wasn't up to the task of DC and offered him a job but not as DC. Roof bolted to Duke.

O'Brien hung around as both OC and QB coach. The worst problem we had last year besides the injuries was at the QB position.

Quote about the QB position came out just before the SVC. "It was like a light went on in his (AJ Sugg's) head" .. Coach O'Brien.

Initially Gailey asked O'Brien to coach from the coaches box but O'Brien flatly refused. However, he later realized that that is where he should be.

Now, O'Brien has taken a demotion. He leaves for MD as QB coach, thus going from OC to a position coach. Seems to me that O'Brien realizes that he is not yet ready for OC duties and needs more time under someone like Friedgen to develop.

Gailey deserves to bring his own men in.

ylo--opinions are welcome but facts should not be twisted to fit opinion.

re:BOB-- it was Kim King who was instrumental in retaining him with Braine and Gailey in agreement.

re:TR-- it was Braine who forced him out. Gailey wanted to keep him after he got to know him, as a position coach. Braine would not honor legal contract and left TR no choice but to look elsewhere.

My opinion: GT, BOB, and TR are all better off as they have gone their separate ways.

i'm sorry .. just goes to show that facts are misrepresented on message boards and i am guilty of doing the same thing.

i have to stop confusing opinion with fact. the problem is that when you're an avid reader of these message boards, and you keep hearing the "opinions" over and over again, they almost become "perception" and that leads to "reality"
