Tech football is in shambles. So painful...
Need to win...I thought we played pretty well today on offense and special teams. Making it interesting at the end saved the game for me. Tech football is not in a shambles.
This is true. Don't think you can make a call on shambles before the season is over though. 3, maybe 4 of the remaining teams are at best no better than UVA and could be worse. Obviously, lose them all and it's a different story.Need to win...
Domineck is one I think. Sims does feel improved at this point, if ever so slightly. Carter as well, considering he was recruited for the TOWhich players have improved since Collins took over? Jackson, Thomas?

I personally think Sims has improved a fair bit, I could of phrased that better. I kind of meant it as even those who are most bearish on Sims have to admit there had been some degree of improvement. We can quibble on how much, but it definitely isn't 0.Ever so slightly?
Sims has made huge improvements, think about Guys like Rattler and DJ Ukelelei that were talked about being high 1st rounders that have made huge steps back that are surrounded with a lot more than Sims is, we still don't get enough easy high percentage throws to our TEs if Sims had that , he'd be close to an 80% passer, before Duke and a crap game by our OLine he had back2back 70% passing Games (UNC & Pitt)
You're one of those fans that don't want to give Sims credit for anything he does right, but want to give him twice the attention for everything that he soes wrong.
Ask yourself how much worse we'd be with Yates dink & dunk passes and playing for FG position?

Not sure I will admit they are a better team, it seems they have Players that care more about Playing the Game the right way, FB isn't that hard of a Game for our Players to make so many Mental Mistakes and play with such poor fundamentals, consider that a lot of these Guys have gotten instructions on correct fundamentals since HS, that means our Guys on the field have been taught the right way to play Defense for 7 to 9 years straight at minimumHow in the world can you say we're in shambles? We are improving. Just not there yet.
We got beat by a better team. It happens.

The DC is not the problem. That's a big hole to climb out of for sure. Get a competent D coordinator and it might happen.
Gibbs was averaging 5ypc before his long run, maybe Sims giving the ball to Gibbs & Mason was the right read? The interception was awful, game changing, mind numbingly bad throw. I have no idea what he was looking at or what he saw. Sims needs to take that out of his game.
If that throw doesn't happen, and we score a TD on that drive. I think we are sitting here now saying Sims had a brilliant game - maybe his best at Tech. A few of the incomplete passes were drops and should have been caught.
In the first two drives we were running zone read and he kept the ball 4 or 5 times. We moved the ball with ease. After the second TD, Sims stop keeping the ball and didn't run again that I can recall until the touchdown drive late in the game. Why? I need to go back and watch, but I think this is a classic case of us going away from what was working.

Didn't they have to go 75-80 yds after that INT?The interception was awful, game changing, mind numbingly bad throw. I have no idea what he was looking at or what he saw. Sims needs to take that out of his game.
