CG\'s record.....

before CG got here we had lost to Auburn 9x's in a row. We had not beaten a top 10 team on the road in 16 years and we did it twice this year.

Did we have bad losses b/f CG got here. Do you count Furman?

But all that aside attendance is UP and so are season tx sells. I saw a stadium FULL at a Wake game.

MANY of the people ripping CG now were NEVER supporting him. I will be in BDS@HGF when we play ND and IF WE WIN it will be ANOTHER TOUGH YEAR FOR THE GAILEY HATERS! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hugelaugh.gif

and for all you people who are SO CONFIDENT we will lose then CALL YOUR BOOKIE! I hope you did when we played @Miami and @Auburn.

I have seen a few posts talking about how they are no longer GT fans. Well being a GT fan it is singularly exclusive. I currently choose to support the coaches and players. While I am disappointed with the loss, I cannot ignore wins over 3 top 25 teams (clemson, auburn, and miami).

I look forward to some quality wins next year as well.

Re: CG\'s record.....

Hmmmmmmm What great next wanna be AD lost to Furman
Look back at some other posts and you will see I did call my bookie before this classic
I still have not heard from the 3 guys that pmed me wanting me to save the juice. I hope they reply soon
ND ?? SO now it is wait til next year again. I have heard that for 4 years

Re: CG\'s record.....

Law-Bee I can respect your post. You have made several good points. My beef is the inconsistency that has taken place over the last 4 years. We have had BIG wins, we all know that, but to get beat in games that should be given is just not acceptable.

I was in the stands for the Furman game, heck my brother played in it. I hate the Duke, UNC, NC ST., and the 4 in a row to UGAy losses.

We need consistency. Good coaches get their players to rise to the occasion each and every week no matter who you are playing.

Re: CG\'s record.....

agree 100% but I think it is going to take time. In 4 year CG has delivered a team that beat 3 top 25 teams and 2 on the road.

Look around and tell me how many teams beat 3 top 25 teams. If we had better QB play we would have probably 4 or 5 more wins over the past two year. Recruiting is better this year (and some of the "longshot" recruits in previous years are panning out).

AINT NO GT COACH GOING TO LOSE HIS JOB W/ THE QUALITY WINS CG HAD THIS YEAR.

If we get the right QB in here (Garner may be that guy) then you will see it GET BETTER.

Re: CG\'s record.....

I cannot remember who it was exactly, but there was a pretty decent post on Buzzoff from a Chan Basher right after the Auburn game. I think it was Bunger Henry. But after Thursday's loss I thought back and often about that post. It basically said that while he was happy we beat Auburn, he almost expected it to happen.

I was pretty surprised by that statement coming from a guy who can't stand Chan. So I continued to read it. The gist of the post turns out to be right on the money. He basically said that you can expect Chan to win games he shouldn't. He's done it since he has been here. Problem comes in that you also know he's going to 1.) Get blown out at least once during the season. And 2.) Lose a game or games he has no business losing. In the end he's good for a 6 win or 7 win season depending on the bowl but he'll never take you beyond that.

That was the gist of it. It was why this poster was not enamored with Gailey or his big wins, because he expected them. Just like he expected the huge let downs, the blow outs, and even the team showing up not prepared at all.

This poster, and I think it was actually Bunger Henry, was dead on the money.

Re: CG\'s record.....

I cannot support someone who does not beat UGA, first and foremost, and 2 years in a row we had a chance to win in the final minutes.. 0-4 againt uga

worst bowl loss ever--- to UTAH mind you, with a backup QB!
worst loss to uGA ever 51-7

7 win middle of the road ACC team, 4 years in a row

-dont forget, team won at least 8 every year prior to 2002 and finshed in top 25 every year since 1997 until 2002. we wont finish in it again this year after one of our "annual" blowouts to UTAH

worst loss to duke ever?
worst loss to clemson ever? 39-3
I have watched us quit at least twice under gaily. UGA and UTAH
We are called quitters in the national media, which we were, call a spade a spade...

"(Georgia Tech) was a quality football team, and not only did we beat them, we dominated them." Utah coach Kyle Whittingham
I'm done

consistently inconsistent

teams not prepared to play week in and week out

Re: CG\'s record.....

One more thing. The poster also brought up the fact that every chance Gailey has to take the team to the next level, he has failed to step up. That has been his consistency.

Re: CG\'s record.....

How's everything on the wagon, lawdawg?

Got enough leg room now? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hugelaugh.gif

I am hearing alot of TALK....

I am hearing alot of TALK "I ain't renewing my season tx BLAH, BLAH, BLAH"

But yet for some reason I am NOT ON THE 50yd line.

If you people really can't support GT then DON'T RENEW YOUR SEASON TX.

I am specifically talking to people on the East Side b/n the 40 yd lineS.

So to your question HELL YEA the wagon is full at least at BDS.

I tell you what everyone WHOEVER IS NOT RENEWING SEASON TX post your seats below this thread.

Lets find out what seats are available.

Re: I am hearing alot of TALK....

I've pledged a certain amount of money over the last 5 years. About 60%-70% of it is paid off. I have already stated that the GTAA will not see the rest until Dave Braine is gone. At that time, I will give the rest of my pledge money and probably make a new pledge.

On the football field, if the following does not occur in the very least:

1.) We get a REAL Offensive Coordinator (Nix can be reassigned but in my opinion he needs to be shown the door).
2.) Gailey is not running the offense next year.
3.) Dave Wilson is replaced as Special Teams Coach AND recruiting coordinator. I add the RC position he holds too because we've lacked numbers in 3 classes when we could have signed more guys after flunkgate.

then if they are not done,

I will not be renewing my season tickets which are lower East 50 yard line row 7 seats 1 and 2. I've also have a lot of friends in this area that have told me the same but I do not know where they sit.

If Reggie Ball is the QB going into the first game, you will probably see me put my tickets up for every home game on Ebay. As much as I hate the thought of some opposing teams fans in my seats, I have had enough of watching Tech teams QB'd by Reggie. Hell, I can probably get some ND idiot to pay me $800-$1000 per seat.

This is all the REAL power I have to ask for changes. So I plan on using it. I also plan on talking to as many people as I can to do the same. Dave Braine will not see my money and many others money until he is gone. His incompetence is mind boggling and I am absolutely disgusted with his leadership of the GTAA.

Re: I am hearing alot of TALK....

Braine will not see an empty seat so if I continue to go I will stop at Kroger for a paper bag as in sIANTS
That with my can chan shirt may make him take notice

Hot damn! Better seats for me if y'all all duck out!

that is NOT ENOUGH!....

if you REALLY want to see a change then all season tx holders holders in the UPPER EAST b/n the 40's should unite and NOT renew their season tx

AND NOT

for just this year. That 5 year K was an INSULT. So you should not renew nor participate in the upcoming reseating. After 5 year of only seeing 4 people in the ENTIRE section b/n the 40's on the Upper East I believe GT admins will take notice.

Lawbee, I've been to almost every home game over the last 10 years. The upper stands are hardly full anyway. Its deserted up there. The last 4 years under O'Leary are stadium was packed. Even with the added seats in the North and South we haven't improved from PHYSICAL attendence in the last 4 years. You can quote numbers all you want to, but I remember going to games in 1998-2001 and the stands both lower west and east were jammed up. Now they're bare at the ends and they have sore spots. The upper stands are not nearly as full as they used to be.

Of course if we play a UGA or an Auburn we see a lot of fans, but typically its our opponentts fans.

JJacket...

So what you are saying is if those 3 things don't happen that I listed that is perfectly acceptable to you? Or you just don't care?

Re: JJacket...

I'm saying I'll still buy season's tickets like I always do. I'll just improve my seats a bit if y'all don't. I ain't boycotting Tech.

Re: that is NOT ENOUGH!....

I appreciate your support of CCG! However, I've seem coaching staffs turn programs around in 2 years! CCG has had a great opportunity to turn things around, but inconsistency and mediocrity and the lack of abiltiy to recuit national players(especially a QB) has been the norm. Try taking off those yellow colored glassess, and look at the big picture! RECRUITING~~~~~or lack there of!

Re: CG\'s record.....

It wouldn't shock me if we beat ND to start the season, causing everyone to "hop on the Chan Wagon". The problem is that the Chan Wagon doesn't like having too many people on board. A loss to follow the ND victory also wouldn't shock me. In fact it would only be typical of how we have performed under Chan. Get a big win that lifts everyone's spirits only long enough to bring you down the very next week. How many times has this happened? In 2003, we win vs. Auburn and nearly pull off the upset of FSU, then get drubbed by Clemson. Later on, we win three or four in a row to then get slaughtered by Duke. 2004: Miracle win vs. Clemson only to be followed by a route in Chapel Hill. Then of course, this year we get to 6-2. What happens? We come out clueless and go down 17 zip to UVA and can never fully recover. We beat the #3 team in the country and then lose to the team that the entire fan base was aching for a W against. The score of Thursday's game says the rest. Chan has managed to survive this long because he has kept the bowl streak alive and just hasn't quite slipped up enough to warrant firing. If he keeps going along as he currently is then eventually he will be toast though. Just ask Dave Barnett..even with the issues surrounding him he was able to keep his job by winning just enough but then when Colorado ended the season being dominated in their last three games, they had finally had enough.

Re: CG\'s record.....

I have great respect for Lawbee but his reasoning is faulty in that it assumes that Chan will have good material to work with next year. On the contrary, I believe that the subpar recruiting classes will finally catch up to him. Someone once said "Its not about the Xs and Os but about the Jessies and the Joes." Recruiting does matter the "Tall Grey Fox" himself acknowledged as much when during the late 1950s and early 1960s he became frustrated with recruiting restrictions. Let me tell you that Dodd was some kind of salesman he could sell Georgia Tech like nobodyelse with that syurpy, genteel manner that had parents and players eating out of his hand. Anyway, I just think that next year we will be reaping the bitter harvests of Chan's recruiting.

Re: CG\'s record.....

and unfortunatly with the psychotic nature of CGs coaching you can look for even more embarrassing losses.

How do you beat Auburn and then lose, no get annihilated by, one of the worst teams in football, Duke? How do you beat UM on the road and get embarrassed by UofU?

LB, you are helping to dig a hole for GT that will take us a decade to get out of.

For some reason you enjoy GT suffering record losses. Sick.
