Chan leaves door open for Taylor to start in bowl

Good to see you posting again Hiveredtech. It is starting to look like BBuzzoff!

Thanks....I just got back in from Jacksonville. We went to the beach over there this morning before heading back to let the kids get some energy out. I am REALLY disappointed, but I cannot give up just like I expect our players to never give up.

Chan definitely needs to go ahead and make the move. Although I could understand the argument anyone may have that it has been RB's team all year and that he has earned the right to start in the Gator, I would untimately have to say that 15-51 ovet the past two games warrants the change.

Take a look at the poll in that article. Around 85% of fans say that starting TB is the way to go. Hopefully CCG reads that article and sees the results of the poll.

I actually did not consider Reggie's start as bad as the 9/29 stat line would suggest. Being at the game, I remember three pass interference penalties that were called on incompletions as well as multiple drops.

That said, Chan should at least give Taylor 50 percent of the snaps with the first offense. With Reggie's non-football antics considered along with his on-field performance, Taylor should become the no-questions-asked first team QB if he performs half as well as Reggie does.

I believe that Chan hasn't taken Reggie out both for the sake of not created a QB controversy and because the offense wasn't really designed around a pocket QB. Now, the team is probably behind Taylor starting and we have three weeks to have the offense practice around a pocket QB.

I'm pretty sure that the PIs aren't counted as incompletions.

They are not counted as incompletions. Doesn't really matter Reggie played pretty horrible, in fact I would assert that he pissed away 14 points because on two different drives he had receivers who were wide open and would have scored, and he overthrew both of them.

TG the day our HC allows the fan base to pick the starter at any position on our football team then I'll be calling for his head.
Please tell me that you really don't think the fan base should pick the starting QB.

My thoughts exactly. Then again, many fans feel like they should be choosing the head coach, assistant coaches, starting QB, etc.

and who posts what on what forum

I have no problem with you (or anyone else) posting on any forum so long as it's rational discussion that's not detrimental to the program. And I'm sorry, but talking about firing our HC after a 9 win season and a New Year's Day bowl is neither rational nor good for the program. Some may not like it, but that's a fact.

We are not Alabama, Miami, USC, Michigan, etc. There's a different set of expectations at GT. I'm not saying that we should be happy with everything that has gone on lately, but we must be realistic about who we are. We will not get a more qualified HC at this point than we already have.

Now, if you want to talk about our OC, go right ahead. If you want to question why we've stuck with our QB the last few weeks, go right ahead. I don't have any answers, but again rational discussion never hurt anything.

thanks for giving me permission (as long as it "rational") about who I/we can and cannot talk about. I appreciate it. If I didnt earn the right to have an opinion after 4 years on the flats, i'm glad i have been given the right of passage now by yourself....

I was stating that it was an overwhelming majority. I wasn't trying to say that CCG to do everything the fans say, but he has to realize that RB has been attrocious as of late and a change at QB needs to occur.

Yeah, I figured it'd come off this way. Not exactly what I meant. It's late. PM sent.

People are just a little touchy right now...myself included

Back to the point of the post...

How many of you really think that he will start TB? I see him going with Reggie again. He might be more likely to play TB, but I dont think I would expect it until the second half. By that time, it might be too late...

Personally I think a change should be made and I hope he does that. Based on history it would seem unlikely, but his comments are unprecedented as well.

Gailey is just at least 2 games late in the possibly of trying another Q. B.

It only cost us an ACC Championship and possibly the game against the mutts.

The Gators played 2 Sat. night.

He acted as if this was Reggie's team and not a TEAM in itself.
