i thought we were going to be alright, after the last 2 games but, we will never turn the corner with this coach . his distinction , worst loss ever to uga , worst loss in 100 years to clemson. please resign at the end of this season, you dont have the emotion needed to prepare for the college game , it requires preparation for every game , there is a difference in losing and embarrassment.

The Jacket - I am sure your comment was sarcasm.I don't think the majority would say a word if it the team had a bad day at some point. However, how many "bad days" are acceptable. If you look closely, we have had 1 good day and 5 "bad days" out of the last 6 games.(For argument sake, let's say 2 good and 4 bad games if you allow concession for a "moral victory" at FSU.)We are getting beat by teams worse than we did under Curry,Fulcher,Carson,Lewis,et al. I think we have enough data to start drawing some conclusions.

I am drawing conclusions.

Right now, I have concluded that we are not getting off on the right foot. Last year was a completely different season and with how much this team has changed, I don't even look at it anymore. We are 1-3 and should be 2-2. We have played 2 great games, and two not so great. As law_bee said in another thread, the next two games will make the story more legible. If we go out and play flat against Vanderbilt, we will know for certain that something is very, very wrong and that a blowout might be on the way at homecoming. If we come out and have something like a 45-3 victory over Vandy, I will think that Gailey has started to right the ship. But unless we lose to Vandy, I don't think we can know very much for certain until the NC State game.

Let me just repeat what I posted here on 8/17/03:

When/if Ga Tech sees the day that we can't beat a BYU team coming off a 5-7 2-5 campaign, on any field, is the day Ga Tech needs to take it's football program in a new direction, FAST.
Most expert projections have the Cougars doing no better this yr than they did last yr. GT should be able to handle this outfit much the same as we did last yr, in much the same way.
The national media & fan perception that GT's program has gone this far south so fast is mindboggling.

Southern Cal & Stanford have already beaten this bunch this yr. I don't need to wait for a pitiful Vandy to see if we're alright. We have 2 bad losses to 2 mediocre teams.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">What the hell will beating Vanderbilt prove? Oh, I know...it will prove we can beat a school whose football program has been delegated in importance to that of intramural ice hockey!

Its taken Chan only 17 games to set 2 100 year records for most points in games against ugag and clemson.

Don't let anybody tell you that Chan has not been an important head coach at Tech. Just look it up.

Agree completely. No coach or team under him should have a bad week or bad game under any circumstances or for any reason, WHATSOEVER.
