Chanesque?

The fragrance or the game? Chan wouldn't have made a valiant come back.

It's the lingering after-Chan'esque' syndrome. If treated properly it normally subsides by the following spring --and can disappear completely by the following fall.

Without a doubt, outside of three inspired offensive drives in the 2nd half. This blueprint had Gailey's fingerprints all over it.

With Chan, you would've seen a 51-14 type game.

Tenuta-esque?

Hard to blame 40 points and 573 yards of offense on Chan or Chan's conservative offense philosophy.

That game would be 51-7 with Chan on the sidelines. Tenuta is clearly a part of the chanesque formula however.

7-6 whoo hoo!

6-6 against D-1a opponents
5-5 against BCS opponents
2-1 against non-BCS opponents
1-6 against teams with winning records.

Very Chanesque.
Sure did look like it except that we did see some "riverboat gambler" stuff even if it was wrong time/wrong place.

But on those late Fresno drives, our DL/LB corp just looked like they had already given up.

We could have won that game. The players just didn't think so. At least that's the way it looked to me.

What made it Chanesque is that the players just quit.

They didn't expect a wacky WAC team to play physical. Thought they'd be soft. When they encountered the least bit of resistance, they rolled over like a puppy dog.

What stood out for me was it was the third (?) incident of "oh, wait, maybe we shoulda played this other dude at QB all year."

Bunger, we didn't play well, but I didn't see guys quit. I saw them come back to make it a game and I saw numerous guys leave the game injured. You can blame the coaches all you want, and you can say that the guys didn't play well, but I didn't see guys quitting out there.

To be more specific, the offensive and defensive lines quit. We started with a good drive, then we forced a 3 and out. After that, our o and d lines just got softer and softer. Slowly our level of effort just receded, until our lines were as soft as warm butter.
