Yep. Went from L'ville HC to TX (makes sense). Got booted from TX after two miserable seasons - ok it happens but then goes to South FL as HC and only last two years - huh?? Then goes to Bama as an analyst then to NFL Jax for one year then to Miami for one year. Dude can't hold a job if you ask me.

Besides, if Miami doesn't want him with his wealth of experience in Florida, not sure why we would.

Whatever year it was he wore the gold cowboy hat following the red river rivalry was tops for his career to me
 
I was rooting for Strong because he is from Arkansas and when he got to TX he said the right things about discipline, just didn't get results.

It's very doubtful that he'd be interested in a position as Special Teams/Nickel Backs coach after just being passed up for a Defensive Coordinator position, wouldn't you think :dunno: ?
 
HARD pass. Canes defense gave up more than 40 points FOUR times . . . including 45 to Middle Tennessee in a home loss.

He never should have ditched Louisville for Austin . . . and I'd bet he wishes he hadn't.

Besides, I heard that he signed up for a second stay at Nick Saban's Halfway House and Rehab Center for Fired Coaches.
 
He is who I wanted to replace Chan, when we were going through all that craziness. I think some wanted that UCLA coach, can't remember his name.
 
Nobody is saying he should be our next DC, but we do have an opening for a ST coordinator that also works with defense. Charlie is an excellent recruiter in the southeast. I think it would be at least worth kicking the tires.
 
Y'all really are a bunch of whiney chodes. I never said I wanted him for D-Coordinator. All I said is that he would be a great asset for our program. Did y'all not get any last night or something? SMH. And some of you saying "what is wrong with Andrew Thacker?" Y'all were whining about Thacker a year ago so don't even give me that BS.

Not trying to be a jerk but can anyone point to any program where he was a great asset? Seems to me that he comes in strong (yeah, pun intended) but leaves not so much everywhere he's ever been.

The results on the field changed drastically from a year ago, without changing Thacker's role, so intelligent people changed their position to fit that facts.
