Tech linebackers still in competition | Daily Jackets

Georgia Tech linebacker Charlie Thomas earned a start in the season opener with his play in the preseason. His play against Northern Illinois last Saturday would suggest he’s in position to keep it.

In what was otherwise a dreadful performance, I don't care what Stansbury says, Charlie Thomas deserves a shoutout. He by far and not even close was the one guy laying the wood and tackling clean. From what I saw, he played a very good game and we need several more like him.

I feel like charlie was perfectly at home in coach Woody's rush side lb, but has struggled a bit to find a home outside of that scheme. I hope he gets it put together as he seems like he's got some real talent.

He is either already in grad school or is headed that way after the season, from what I heard, so I think this will be his last on The Flats.
Despite his misstep prior to the Quick Lane Bowl, he's had a good career and he has used football to further his education.
I hope he has a great season.
