Check out AFRJacket.....

I have never thought the HIVE or ST quash dissent IMO it's the way you dissent.
Those that hijack thread after thread are generally gonna be gone.

The Hive belongs to Ramblin Reck He sets the tone and if he thinks a post could be a detriment to the Institute He's gonna pull it's same here on ST but it's Not that way on BuzzOff you get yanked when you've got beebad by the balls and he dosent have a legitimate come back.

The Hive sucks the big one...

Please don't refer to them in the same breath as StingTalk.

What's the saying you can polish a terd.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hugelaugh.gif

I guess it's just human nature to pick sides.
That said, whenever it was that the concept of internet team/school forums came to be a reality, did anyone really think that grown men(mostly) could act like high school sophmore girls?
If it was nasty/heated debates over what was best for our football program that would be one thing, but this is ridiculous. I admire the stoic football/athletics only fans that stay the hell away from these sideshows!

I agree that ST and the Hive are somewhat compatable. Kind of like the Episcopaleons and the Catholics I suppose. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

what was best for our football program

[/ QUOTE ]

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rant.gif This is what is the most important thing---PERIOD. Those on BO think that getting rid of Chan was the best thing. The FOC's realize that it would have set our program back once again. Now that the decision has been made the FOC's support the decision and know that ^^^^^^refer to quote above(what is best for our football team) is to support that decision and this coach until a point in which another decision is to be made. The continual negativity will do nothing to promote our team and make it successful.
I think the FOC's hate the BO folks because no matter what they always look at everything with a glass half full mentality. Honestly--shit is looking up. Nix calling plays/A good start to the recruiting season/getting a full boat of schollies in '08/etc. etc. Sure we haven't been 7-4 or 8-3 lately but should we have been? I don't think so. We could have been but....there are some things that are out of your(i.e. chan's) control.

Good poast houser... Well said!!

thanks
and WHY would it have set us back???? Because Chan has been at Tech and knows what is going on here. Whenever a change is made there is a period of time when no matter how badass a coach is---there are things that take getting acclimated/accustomed to(i.e. dealing with the Hill and academic standards) sure Weiss and ND had a pretty good season but he has Quinn....we have well you know not Quinn. AND and thats a BIG AND their sched wasn't nearly as difficult as ours.
Pittsburgh

Michigan State
Washington
Purdue
USC
BYU
Tennessee

Syracuse
Stanford
CCG would have gone 8-3 there easily.

Not quite so fast on that one.

What I hope is true is that people that share thoughts on this forum are not labeled anything, one way or another.
By not having a particular platform it is healthier and more realistic that adults can change their opinion without having to go against the grain.

I have no idea about the economics and language of Chan's new contract, but I fully expect that significant improvements will have to be made for Coach Gailey to remain as head coach in 2008. IMO, a change could very well happen after this year if Dan is not encouraged.

I have no absolute basis for this, but the administration will not offer the more flexible recruiting if the on field results are not greatly improved. And yes, this does include beating uga somewhat regularly.
Dan Radokovich is a young guy on the rise. I don't believe he has any interest in playing in any more inagural bowl games.

Bingo on the influence of Rad

I think most of these good vibs related to coaching staff changes and recruiting can be traced to Rads influence and DaBraines exit. From what I've read I'm pretty sure that Rad won't sell our tradition to the highest bidder.

Re: Bingo on the influence of Rad

Really Rad has not had to do anything yet. although there are a couple of big name recruits that may need help up the Hill.

This is 100% Giff taking over for Wilson as Recruiting Coordinator and Geoff coming in to do an incredible job of promoting the program, staying in touch, getting kids to unofficial visit, etc. Plus a full staff of excitable recruiters like Jean-Marie, Modkins, Coach D, Kelly, Hunter, etc. To top if off, Gailey is getting set up VERY WELL with straight scoop from Geoff, Giff, and gang...and he is following up with a finely tuned close with his sales pitch.

This staff is finally complete from a recruiting standpoint.

Re: It\'s not a new board.

I'm not jealous.

I'm beyond tired of you. Really, I am. Just go away.

I am the coach that posts over there. However, OF never said I blast the program, I do not and have not blasted the program. I have only started a few threads between the three main boards, when I start one, I start one on all three threads. Quite honestly I find myself posting more on BO than anywhere, the reason is quite simple. They will actually carry on a conversation with me. I do not agree with them on many issues, but I do not go calling them names and telling them that their personal opinons are wrong. If you do not like me posting over there, tell me why. Go research all three sites and let me know if you find something where I am blasting the program.

LB Coach, I really don't have a problem with where you post. But I will say this.. If you find the main people on Buzzoff to be informative and knowledgable about the game (and it appears that you don't since you often disagree with them) then I would question your capability as a coach. That said, I've never seen anything offensive posted by you.

I think the reason people have a hard time imagining a coach posting over there, is because by posting over on that forum, you are lending crediblity to a bunch that have shown a lot of hatred for fellow fans, the program, the coaches, and have disrespected the players. On more than one occassion they have backed themselves into an opinion that contradicts something else they have stated, which isn't exactly a sign of being all that intelligent in my opinion. So by posting over there, it could be construed by others that you are ok with those people and agree with what they say (even if you don't).

Again though, you have never said anything that has offended me and I have enjoyed reading your posts. I think if you posted here you would get good responses on both sides of the coin instead of the same broken record.

This is exactly why i will never post over there.

It has been over a year since I have visited BO. I have no reason to ever go back.

I will go back and re read what OF wrote in this thread that set me off, but I took that he said a Tech coach was posting on that board. That is what I wanted proof of.

I just don't get why OF wants to keep stirring the pot. If he would quit bringing up BO like the sites were warring tribes, all this BS would just go away. (SLJ too, but he is still in BO-Tox)
I have absolutely nothing against anything you have written over here, and have no clue what you said over there.

I see where you are coming from BOR, but I have found that if I post in a sensible manner, do not question their authority, beliefs, or start bashing them, they can actually carry on a very good conversation. During the offseason this board seems to die, and the hive is just, well, the hive. Sometimes there are good things brought up over there but for the most part I just quickly skim the list of topics on any given day. I wish there were more conversation here and it seems to me the main reason it has picked up over here is the arrival of SLJ. Also, what anyone thinks of me from a message board is of no concern to me. Some people look down on me and others because I am not a Tech alum. I'll be the first to admit I am envious of Tech alums. I come to love Tech because of GOL. He was my recruiting coach during the '94 season. I had size, talent, but no grades. I still fell in love with Tech. I had to take another route of JC, then 1-AA, then career ending knee surgery. However I am thankful for the way my life has turned out. If I had been accepted to Tech, I would not have my wife, I would more than likely not still be involved in the game I love, and would probably not be able to instill the love for the game and help shape young men's lives the way I am able to now. I love what I do. So what if I do not make as much as the next guy, or get to go to alot of Tech games, (usually 1 every couple of years) but I still love Tech. I feel even closer now because a man I deeply love and have much appreciation and admiration for is now on the Tech staff. If not for Coach Hunter I would probably not be in the position I am in now. He pushed me and believed in me when noone else would and made me a better man and player because of it. I hope to be able to make a couple of more games now that Coach Hunter is there, but I refuse to call on him and ask for handouts. Oh well I have rambled well off track and have digressed this thread even more.

PW you are wrong I did not bring up BO first, pls read SLJ's comments again! He brought it up and as usual he started the trash talking not I! I only responded to him and I never said that LBC was a Tech coach. In fact at that time I did not know where he coached. I looked it up and found he coached in SC. As LBC said in his post I did not mention where he coached. My beef with some is that by trashing BO they are trashing some good people, like LBC, players parents etc. That's my only beef with trashing a board as a whole. In fact when SLJ was banned here, he trashed this board and even went so far as to name people he had issues with such as BOR and others!

Here is SLJ's 1st post in this thread:

"He has been overwhelmed by noxious fumes from a first ever visit to BuzzOFF....or Hell as AFR put it."

Now why in the world would SLJ want to start a thread like this to begin with? Personally I think he wants to get attention!

As I have said when he trashes good people I respond!

EDIT: As can be attested to by some on this board, I take exception many times with people on BO. I don't reply on many threads and as I said I take exception to many on BO!

I actually agree with foggy for once. Stop (everyone) with the board bashing. If you keep mentioning Buzzoff (no matter what you say) you're giving it credence and you're driving folks to it.

And for the other 3 (Hive, ST, and Rivals) they all have their own pros and cons. I'm just glad there's as many sources for GT info & conversation as there are. I can't imagine (remember) what it was like in the 80's / early 90's when you had to depend on the AJC for GT info.

Yeah pros and cons

I like the Hive esp. the insiders board..and I was tipped off to Stingtalk by many hivers that frequent here once the night of the 'longknives' happened..I'm looking forward to turning it up a notch on the BOTD, music, etc.
