Point being, we didn't look all that bad on O in this game. Sorry ST's took uys out of our O early and turned a 7-3 game into a 28-3 game by giving LSU 3 easy TD's.

Yes, we didn't look great, but we didn't look bad on O all things considered.

OK....now I'm convinced that we really have idiots on here.

What's your point? Moral Victory?....who the hell cares......we got beat....badly

THE ONLY STAT THAT MATTERS IS THE "L" we got on our record.....PERIOD.

Wake up....it's over with.

There's a reason that they say "stats are for losers", and you just proved that point.

Moral Victories are for suckers......have you ever played the game? If so, you wouldn't be bringing this up.

Move on, most of the rest of us I think have.

Do you think CPJ is using these stats sayin' "team, I know the score looked bad but hey....our offensive stats weren't that bad"....hell no. He's sayin' we got our @$$'s handed to us...it's my fault, it's your fault...but it's over....lets' get ready to prove to everyone starting next Sept that last year's season wasn't a fluke...it was a stepping stone towards a championship. That may not be a quote....but I'd bet my paycheck he's said something to that effect

Everytime I log on here theres someone else living in a fairytale world when it comes to GT sports.

You probably think CPH is doing a fine job too.

9-5 was a great season....I'm happy

Did I like getting skull drug on Nat'l TV ...nope

No excuses....it was a beating anyway you slice it.

Next Season can't get here quick enough.

The nice thing is the players and coaches don't have a lingering hangover from this game. They have moved on and that's all that really matters.

GT65 has had enough at this point --walks out the corridor, finds his wife at consession area and says, "I'm ready to go". Wife convinces GT65 to stay, so we stay ...until half. She's not a sports fan, was enjoying the atmosphere of being at the CFA bowl, and I've felt bad since then that I made us leave ..but I just couldn't take it any longer.

BTW, why in the he!! are we talking about this? Spring 2009 is upon us.

Thank you, John. The players know what happened and they need to be past that game.

My point is people keep referring to how LSU shut us down, and they did about as much as we shut ourselves down. Did we get waxed? Yes. Was it a sorry game? Yes, I was on the 40 yard line and saw the whole thing. Was it bad on national TV? Yes. However, we made some nice drives in that game. We moved the ball on LSU "who practiced for a month for the option" very well at times.

For the numbskull above: This is the point. The only point. No moral victory. No feel good stories. Simply that the O wasn't shut down like the score might indicate in that game. Take it for what it is.

It was our last game, and so it is fair game to talk about, no matter how far you wish to sweep it under the rug. (We love to still talk about the UGAG game, and it was a month before the CFA Bowl.) Every preseason mag will reference this game. It is very relevant. It was the game many will use in order to convince themselves that PJ's offense will not work. There is evidence in my OP to the contrary.

THWG - here's a suggestion. If you see a thread you're not interested in, it won't hurt anyone's feelings is you stay the hell out of it. stinger has been posting here for quite a while and many people are interested in his thoughts. If you're not, just keep it to yourself.

That list showed me only one thing: that Paul Johnson runs a high school offense and we're royally screwed. We'd better fire him now and hire Patrick Nix, because the whole ACC has this offense figured out. Paul Johnson's offense will never work.

There's no way we can beat UGa if we can't pass!

This offense cannot beat the team speed of a school like Miami.

How will Georgia Tech get past the mighty defense of an SEC team like Mississippi State?

Thank you, ncjacket.

We had 10 possessions total:
4 went for 10 yards or less.
6 went for 35 yards or more that amassed 293 yards on 49 plays - 6 ypp. If you watch the replay, you will notice that LSU bottled up the middle effectively, but that we ran outside quite well, and we completed some nice pases when JN had time.

On offense, we killed ourselves with TO's and LSU stopped us with drive-stopping negative plays (usually trying to pass in the 2nd half).

Now notice our starting field position:
20, 14, 20, 0, 15, 19, 1, 38, 15, 50

LSU scored on their 1st possession (TD - starting from their own 40), their 3rd possession (TD - starting form their own 24), and their last possession (FG - starting from their own 46). Their other scoring drives started at the GT 19, 24, 42. All but one started beyond their own 40, and the one that didn't, we helped them with big 3rd down penalties after we had them stopped.

Our ST's killed us in that game, and theirs were excellent. It wasn't our O nearly as much as most are prone to think. This encourages me greatly, as we approach the spring and another year of GT football.
