Per the ajc Choice is to have knee surgery on Tuesday & will miss the VT game for sure & it is unknown exactly how long he will be out..... See quotes below per ajc
"Georgia Tech rushing leader Tashard Choice will undergo knee surgery on his right knee on Tuesday and sit out the Virginia Tech game Nov. 1, the school said Monday afternoon.
It was unknown how soon Choice would be able to return to the football field or whether he would be back before the end of the season. Choice underwent an MRI on Monday morning, and Tech spokesman Dean Buchan said Tuesday's surgery will determine the extent of the injury Choice suffered in Saturday's homecoming victory over Army."

Man doesn't sound too good....Man talk about getting the rug pulled out from underneath you...I hope the boys will step up esp. WR and RB and play their hearts out for DUECE!!! I wish him a full & Quick! recovery

I keep telling y'all it's a torn MCL or torn cartilage. Both can recover in weeks instead of a year.

Well I was hoping for a strain or slightly pulled in some fashion...Well we can still hope for slight tear or minor overall damage....but it's still going to be tough....plus how soon would he come back and risk a long term injury & jeopardize a more serious injury & his future draft status in the NFL....Unless you think it would be more important for him to recover as quickly as possible & go out and prove he can still "carry the load" & do the things he was capable of doing prior to the injury....Guess that is 2 different ways of looking at the situation.

In 3 weeks we play UNC and in 4 or so weeks we play UGA. I don't know didley about sports medicine, but I can't imagine you can have surgery on your knee and be back that quick. Hopefully I'm just an idiot and don't know what I'm talking about. All I know is he couldn't even limp off the field, which is never good.

Do or die for our passing game. I have confidence that our backups will be able to get consistent yardage, but I doubt we will be able to ride them to victory like we did w/ choice.

God Speed, Deuce.

Macon, I can not deny that since he couldn't limp off, it is likely more serious than they are letting on to. BUT, with the information we have, I'm hopeful it's a simple cartilage tear where loose cartilage is causing the pain. I'm hoping and theoretically he could come back in a matter of weeks.

I'm no doctor either but I've watched enough sports to know that we should be mentally prepared to see someone other than Choice tote the rock from here on out.

Sounds like an exploratory scoping of the knee. Let's wait and hear the result before assuming...Mike

I just hope our trainers don't give the ok too early. TC will want to come back as soon as he is able to put weight on it.

Seems like the MRI indicated a slightly torn MCL or a torn piece of cartilage that can generally be removed by arthroscopy. They usually confirm this with the scope, make a few small incisions, and either resect the pieces of torn cartilage or repair the tear, depending on the injury.

Hopefully, this is the case. If it's minor arthroscopic surgery TC could be back in weeks i.e. the UGA game. We'll know by tomorrow afternoon...

I expect to see him back soon. He is walking fine and says its good. If it is in fact a small tear he should be good to go pretty soon. Now next week we will see a heavy dose of Grant and Dwyer.

I don't think you can come back from a small ACL tear quickly though...if that is what it is...that is an 8 week recovery....if its a PCL its about the same. I think if its a partial MCL tear...it is a much quicker turn around...

I hope the tear is more like a cartiledge or something else in there...

I didn't say it was ACL or PCL, it doesn't seem like its either of those.

ESPN Reporting...

ESPN is reporting that Choice is out "at least 2 weeks." That just came across the ticker on ESPN2.

That is exactly my thought. TC do not risk the first round by returning too soon. You are my favorite RB of the past 20 years and you have MILLIONS riding on your decision.

As much as I would love to see TC back in the line-up for UNC --and certainly Georgie-- I do not want to see him put himself in a position to jeopardize his future.

The 'Tech in 2007' side of me of course wants him back --but man I would hate to see him come back to soon and really get hurt.

If it's two weeks, THAT'S GREAT! Even if we held him out through the Duke game it should mean that it won't affect his NFL hopes much if any at all.

Here's hoping the team lifts themselves up for VPI.
