I have been to a couple of Falcons practices and Chris Reis is getting looked at by the coaching staff for special teams. He doesn't seem to be getting as much attention at safety as he is on special teams. He is making the most of his opportunity though and I think he has an outside chance to make the team as a special teamer.

not surprising as this is how he started at GT as an ace special teamer.

I think Chris would eventually have a better shot at outside backer than safety. I thought he was more valuable to us as a backer also, he just filled a need spot last year. JMHO

No Offense to Chris, but he lacks NFL secondary speed and NFL linebacker size. Unfortunately, there isn't a roster spot on most NFL teams for the player with the most heart.

Believe it or not, He ran a 4.52 at the NFL Combine and 4.49 at the NFL Pro Day. Also had a 38.5 inch vertical leap. Of course that is straight ahead speed, not burst which he probably lacks a little more of.

He is a football player though. I REALLY want to see him make the roster.

I don't think he saw action until late in the game on either defense or special teams. Not a good sign. Did I miss him earlier in the game.

They actually do and it is usually on special teams. How many times did Steve Tasker see the field as a receiver, yet he was an impact player for the Bills. If he excels on special teams, he will get a roster spot.

Also, think about Mark Pike and Joe Burns as well. Mark played very little on the DL and Joe doesn't get many carries either.

Yes and Mark played for what 12 or 13 years. Chris' opportunity to make this team is likely as a special teams specialist. I hope it works out for him even though he is a former Roswell Hornet, the evil enemies of the Centennial Knights.

Banker, It doesn't look like we are going to play football against each other. Harrison is in the Cherokee/Cobb NGFL. His first scrimmage is saturday.

I don't know why we aren't playing teams in your area though unless the boundries are drawn.

RM Who does Harrison play for?

Reis has been at third team the entire camp. As I mentioned earlier, at a couple of the practices I attended he was working with the first and second team special teams although I did not see him on the field until late in the game the other night on special teams. I may have missed him though.
