This piece from The State in Columbia points out 10 reasons that the Tigers will be 10-2. They figure all they have to do is pull out a W @ Boston Coll, @ Va Tech or @Fla St & they'll have the 10 wins. This paper appears to view the Ga Tech home game as a certain W.
The Orange & Purple guys do seem to have an experienced team coming back & should be real competitive. They have a new QB replacing 3 yr starter Whitehurst, which is a major minus. The OC & DC will be starting their 2nd season & appear to be T Bowden's best co-ordinator tandem ever. A double-major plus. Bowden cleaned house after '04 & this group seems to be much better.
If your assistants ain't getting the job done, then you need to throw out the dead wood.

Every year T Bowden loses games he shouldn't. You know WF several times. Duke. I bet they don't go better than 7-4 especially with a new qb. This was their year to get it done not next.

Next year will lose to 4 of these 6:

VT
GT
FSU
BC
SC
Maryland

And that is not even considering the trouble they have every year with WF and J. Grobe.

I believe we have a better chance of getting to 10 wins then Clem's son.

Maybe every team in the ACC will get to 10wins.

Clemson will not win in 2006 @FSU, @BC and @VT. They'll slip up at home against MD, GT or NC St. and SC is up for grabs.

Early prognostication for IPTAY football 2006, 4 losses at best.

Yes, but not powerful enough. We keep thinking after winning 7 that we're gonna be great the next season. No matter what one might think of T.Bowden, at least he recognizes problems, and acts to correct them.

Yep, but

these 2 new co-ordinators will be entering their 2nd yr, have a lot of experience returning & will get off to a quicker start next yr. Also, the Tigers lost a couple of very close games ( 10-9 GT Homecoming in Atl) which could have made them even better than 8-4. Who knows what'll happen next?

I honestly would IF I thought CG was the type of man to nutt up and act like a guy who desperately wanted to
win a championship. If he was, he would aggressively make the major structural changes we have been talking about.

I'm not talking about what new package to put in the red zone scheme. I mean just act like and do the things a hard assed football coach would do if winning was vitally important. I am not talking about cheating.

I thought with a new 5 year deal, Chan would take ownership of this program and try to make it his.

Who knows, maybe this time the no communication from the Edge bunker means some serious work is being done. I doubt it, but I will hope.

Clemson fans believe they are going to win the national championship next year every year. It has been the same story every year since I played at Tech in the early eighties.

I was there. I remember lining up against an offensive guard that played for the Tide that was like 5 foot tall and weighed like 300lbs. A tough one but a great one. That game and Clemson when they were ranked number one were two great games to be a part of.

Even though that Alabama game was played in B'ham, and before school started, my crew decided the best thing to do was run down to Tuscaloosa and try to find some trouble. Like I said, it was before school started. In retrospect, it was best that our drunk butts didn't have anyone to mess with in Tuscaloosa, but what a day! Thanks again.
