An undermanned Wake team won the ACC and a marginal G.T. team played in the Championship.

__________

Do the majority of fans outside of GT think this?

I think the ACC certainly was down, but I don't consider Wake to be undermanned, and GT was certainly not marginal. Underachieving would be more accurate.

agree with you on the underachieving part... that certainly applied to us at the last games of the season.

How down must they be to finish 5-3 in a "down" conference?

Couldn't agree more. I live up here among the Clemson crowd & throughout the first 8 games of the season, all they talked about was how this was their year because everyone else was down.
Tommy can hold his own when it comes to wasting talent.

I think both statements are true - relative to conference champions.

Wake is undermanned compared to the champions of the other BCS conferences and had we won, we would be 'marginal'.

We underachieved for sure, but just contemplate how much Clemson underachieved. They had wins vs both teams who played in the championship game, and had a very very solid team all around. Then choked 3 in conference, and lost to their instate rival too.

Clem had a view going into the Tech game that everything is wonderful. We sure didn't do a thing to distort that view. They just forgot to follow through.
I want to see how they do next yr without 4 of those big Sr OL hosses.Welcome to reality.

Our underachieving part applies to.........
1) Offense
2) Special Teams Kick off coverage
3) Coaching - mainly decision making on when to make an offensive change.... you know.....sometime probably the 3rd qtr. :ugh: Q.B.

I live up here in the upstate too, and let me tell you, Willy Korn is the savior according to all Clemsonites. Of course, it won't take much to hand off to Spiller and Davis, but it will be interesting to see how they handle the loss of their O line. If people stop their running game next year, Korn will be just like Proctor and crack under pressure- see Gaffney High vs. Byrnes, part 1 & 2.

Tommy has certainly blown his share of games considering the talent he has had in the last few years (I can think of 2 games to us), but since 1981, their fans are the most myopic fans I have ever witnessed. Every year they think they will be BCS bound, and by game 9, they will be begging Danny the cheater to come home to coach.
