Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson did not give an update on the practice status of A-back Clinton Lynch following Wednesday’s practice, leaving in question his availability for the season opener against Tennessee in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff game on Monday.

Asked if he practiced Wednesday, Johnson replied, “We’ll let you know.”

Tech is not obligated to provide an injury report prior to the game, as it is a non-conference matchup. ACC rules require teams to release injury information for league games only. Lynch did not practice for several days due to an undisclosed injury at least through Monday. Johnson had said last week that, if Lynch did not return to practice by the end of the week, he probably wouldn’t play against the Volunteers.

No reason to rush him back for UT or Jax State. We are stacked at A back and I prefer we make sure he is healthy when we get him back. Not like we lose much if any with Super Searcy or JJ Green. Also excited to see Cottrell and his blazing speed
 
I think he's back and CPJ is just continuing to öööö with the media.
