He said that the coaches tried to make a couple of adjustments at halftime-those adjustments didn't get done on the field. Sounds like BL to me
After Lewis was fired his players ranted that BL
was only concerned with how a loss affected him without any concern about how lousy the players felt. Passing the buck is a common characteristic
embraced by Coach DULL and Bill Lewis." Gaily reiterated that AJ remains the clear starter atQB, despite a nice performance from Bilbo. Suggs
hasn't been consistent, drawing boos from the faithful, who have been interested in seeing Bilbo perform.Bilbo did throw a 69 yard TD pass to Watkins, but the athletic freshman is working with less than 20 percent of the package while Suggs has simply had trouble executing what he knows. Bilbo made a couple of plays and I'd hope he'd make a couple of plays,"said Gailey. Obviously, the big play is the one everyone is talking about, but he did a couple other nice things. He'll have to increase his package as time goes on. We'll try to increase that-as time goes on, and he'll have to get that repped and polished in practice before we can take it to the field." Of course I was quoting Coach DULL beginning with the quotation marks. I think it is clear that coach DULL is going to continue to tease us with Bilbo and stick with Suggs which comes off as a political choice. He admitted that Suggs couldn't execute the plays that he understood so why not go with Bilbo? DULL isn't making any sense to me.

that package quote blows my mind, suppose aj went down ,when in the hell would bilbo learn the package. this stinks, if the package is so complicated it sure as hell didnt confuse wake forest.

It does beg the question "are they shooting us a line of bull?" I don't think so but the coaches are digging their own grave if they don't think being good communicators is conducive to their success. How were Bilbo and Suggs in a dead heat for the QB position, according to the staff, back in the spring when both players had been with the program for a year or better and now, according to the staff, Bilbo has never learned more than 20 percent of the playbook? I don't think it is but I do think most people would feel like this is some kind of baloney.

Actually it was O'Leary who used to talk about how the coaches had the players in position, they just didn't execute. We heard that all the time when he was making excuses for our defensive failings.

Here we go again! It is time for one of my eternal statements, "a teams performance is a mirror image of the coaching they receive".

We cannot blame poor performance on the players. It always falls back on the coach. If the players don't perform, then it is up to the coach to put the right ones in that can perform, or teach the proper techniques to those already in place.

Blaming a team's performance on the players is not only false, it shows dishonesty in a coach.

Teach them correctly and they will perform correctly. Teach them poorly and they will perform poorly. Why did Wake Forest, a team with lesser quality players, perform better than our team? Answer: Coaching.

Please coaches, I did not just fall off the turnip truck!

hey, toe, wouldn't it be cool if someone could ever get to the HC to ask him the kind of questions you bring up, i.e. WF understood our O! Me thinks this HC has delusions of grandeur about his so-called "complicated" offense. If he is not smart enough to simplify it to have success, then he stinks. Whatever happened to "Bilbo is too good of an athlete to keep off the field"? Noone seems to be able to get close enough to him to ask hard questions.

"Coach Dull" LOL!! Great name. How was he received, Buck? Was the speech dull?

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">On the Chan Gailey Show/GT Sports Today show Saturday morning, CG said "We've never seen the formations Wake is using. There different. Different and good." After the game, the players were quoted as "we've never seen there formations before."

Your right on about this, Ah.

IIRC the coaches at FSU have made similar statements after a loss. I recall finding that strange because Bobby has nothing to fear as far as job security.

So I felt that Bobby was telling the truth, that it was mistakes in execution that lost the game.

But I also feel a coach should always credit the players for a win and the coaches for a loss. The coaches I respect the most toe this line.

BizzyBee. Coach DULL was well received and honesty compels me to say to you that he was an entertaining speaker. He seemed relaxed and at ease with the group and his south Ga. drawl comes across like frozen molasses pouring from a fruit jar. I just wish he could run a football team as well as he runs his mouth.
