Coach G put forth the player revelations

that everyone is constatly asking about on the Tech boards. This ought to answer the fans ?s.
1) Syd Ford-Coach is worried that if he can't come back in 2 months, should we even consider letting him come back next yr. Coaches have discussed RSing Ford. "As a football coach I'd like to have him back next yr, but as a Dad & someone who cares about him I'm worried that if he can't come back before the end of the season, if he should play next yr? We have to be very smart about this. We are consulting with neurologists & others. We have to be very intelligent". "The question is if he can't come back in 9 weeks, should he try to play next yr?
2) Anyansi-"has a hamstring pull, but wasn't playing very well when healthy. He has a long way to go to catch back up".
3) Jer Hatch-"He's not running very well. He's on the scout team working on his running. I watched the Peach Bowl today trying to put my finger on it".
Coach G took shots at those who try to grade recruiting classes & said we had a fine one. "How about Bridges & Eziemefe & the plays they've made"? "& Sampson"? "They're playing fine".
4) Brezina,Mattews,Pullen-"we have 3 good defensive linemen that we'd like to redshirt. They're gonna play a lot for Tech. Pullen dressed & traveled to NCar, but we're gonna make every effort to rs him. Another injury & he may play".
5) Cooper, McHargue-"we want to rs the big lineman".
6) Reis & Vinice Gilliam-"both are playing & contributing on special teams".
7) Kengi McNair-"he's going to be an OUTSTANDING (Coach's emphasis) linebacker before he's through".
8) McGuire-"a big receiver who'll play next yr".

You could tell Gailey was very pleased with the players he brought in this yr. He thinks they're really good players who will play a lot for Tech. Really 'stuck out his chest' to point out how the 'experts' hadn't given this class much notice, but they'll be very good.
There are several in this group that could be special, especially McNair, & they all received many high accolades & many played in post season all star games that weren't published locally.
This group was way under heralded coming in.

Thanks GTAce for pointing all that out. Yes we DID get a great recruiting class. Again, not high in numbers but VERY high in quality. We're gonna see some greatness out of this class. I for one can't wait!! The future WILL be bright at GT!!
