Coach G \"we got a lot of speed\"

Coach was very upbeat about the speed at the positions in his press conference about his recruits. This class is a long ways from a total bust & with RS yrs, well ya just never know. It does appear that we got some help & that help may come quickly.
You've gotta like;
1) LB Tongo- This guy could help immediately. Probably the best player we picked up.
2) CB Marius- Heir apparent to Scott. Hope he can RS. Should be very good for GT.
3) WR Thomas- If he doesn't play this yr, he'll play a lot in '07.
4) WR Earls- Might make an impact on returns this season.
5) RB Evans- Why do I get the feeling that his speed will motor right past Guase & Grant into Choice's b/u?

Tech plain out doesn't need a lot of help this yr. If our staff will wise up & let these guys RS to grow, strengthen & improve, they may be good in a coupla yrs.
Here's the item from Rambling Wreck.

Earls was clocked at 4.36 at a Nike Camp. He is a blazer similar to Kelly Campbell. Same deal with Marius.

Lets not forget Sedric Griffin. This LB was officially clocked at 4.41 at a combine.

Barrick is freaky fast at 240 lbs.

Thomas is not that fast...more like a 4.6-4.7 guy...but with training on his take-off and separation when he makes his move he may be fine. If not, he will make one heck of a FS!

Evans will definitely be ahead of Gause. Gause is really struggling with a serious injury. The most impressive thing about Evans he how he uses changes of speed rather than track speed...he has great hips, balance, and vision.

I think you are right. We have the bulk of our team back, which should allow us to redshirt almost all of this class. Sometimes another year or so of maturity is the only difference between some players and those ranked higher during the recrutiing process.
