I was sad to see that Ravens and former GT offensive line coach Joe D’Alessandris has died today. Of course, we always complain about the O-line course whenever we have a long day on offense. But, Coach Dee was a fine coach. I enjoyed getting to know him when my son was playing as an offensive center. At Chan’s prospect camp in the summer of ‘05 Coach Dee wanted to see him try left tackle. He had a tough blocking day going against a rising Junior named Derrick Morgan. Coach Dee showed him footwork techniques, hand positions and leverage and he got better quickly. Joe was a really nice guy and great teacher of the game. Prayers for his family and players.
