48 meaning it wasn't that big of a loss. 1 means I cried to my mom after the game

48. 2008 LSU, 3-38

Coming off of the first win against Georgia since 2001 we were riding high. And after just missing an ACCCG appearance due to a bullshit 15 yard penalty against VT it was probably hard to get up for this one. The boys came out flat, but I left the Georgia Dome with a smile on my face nonetheless.

47. 2015 Clemson, 24-43
The next few on this list are mainly so low because the games didn't matter and/or we were expected to lose. This matchup in particular I was flipping back and forth through other games and wasn't very invested in the outcome. Very boring game that we were never really in. I didn't lose much sleep over this one.

46. 2013 Clemson, 31-55
I was actually somewhat impressed by our offense this game. Godhigh was incredible, something like 150 receiving and rushing. Defense couldn't stop anything though and we got smacked. At this point in the season I was just looking forward to baseball. Once again, I didn't lose much sleep over this one. As much as I hate losing to Clemson, these two Clemson games above just didn't mean much.

45. 2015 @Miami, 21-38
I had to watch highlights just to remember that there was even a game in the first place. This game in particular is probably one of the only Georgia Tech games that nothing comes to my head, highlights, lowlights, big days by players... So this definitely belongs high on the list.

44. 2013 @BYU, 20-38
Eh, I had to work for this game and just wasn't all that into the results. I wasn't overly upset that we lost. This season was a wash at this point. Not very surprising, not very important, and not very memorable. This game could make a case for number 48 on this list probably.

43. 2010 Miami, 10-35
Tevin Washington was starting and it got away quick. After losing to Kansas and watching Nesbitt break his arm the week before, this game was just an excuse to get drunk for me.

42. 2012 @Clemson, 31-47
Like other Clemson games on this list, the stakes just weren't very high. We had just lost to Middle Tennessee St., and were on our way to what seemed to be a 2-3 win season. I went to this game and actually had a lot of fun, all things considered. This game was exciting and we played them to the wire, so not much to bitch about.

41. 2010 @Clemson, 13-27
It seems like, besides 2008, the Georgia Tech/Clemson games in Clemson just don't mean jack shit. At the time though, this game was huge because we were 3-1 in the ACC. I really think losing to Kansas desensitized me to losses in 2010 because this game could probably be in the lower 20's of this list.

40. 2012 BYU, 17-41
Hey, at least we broke our kick return td futility streak! Ezekiel Ansah was too much for our poor triple option on this day. Neither TD we scored was offensive and BYU ran away with this one.

39. 2015 @Duke, 20-34
This is another game that could probably be way higher on this list, because it was an ACC opener and the start of four straight conference losses. I was pretty pissed that we lost this game. This is the part of the list where it gets tougher and tougher to decide which loss is worse than the other. Ultimately since we went 3-9 on the year and Duke was a halfway solid team this game got bounced a little bit.

38. 2016 @UNC, 20-48
Man, what in the actual öööö happened here? Mitch Trubisky ööööed us up hard. This loss dropped us to 2-4 in the ACC but it probably wasn't a winnable matchup anyway. And after three losses in the season already at this point it wasn't a huge shocker.

37. 2015 @UVA, 21-27
We were 3-5 and coming off of the miracle win vs. FSU. Even though this loss sucked, it didn't mean much other than dropping a game closer to losing bowl eligibility.

36. 2010 NCST, 28-45
I was really salty at this game, because Russell Wilson turned us into concrete. We made a very good comeback and got within 35-28, but Wilson and Co. added a late 10 to make it look worse than it actually was. While this was an important game, we had already lost to Kansas and like I said, I was pretty uninterested in the season compared to if we had beaten Kansas (öööö stupid ass goddamn poduck ass kansas)

35. 2016 Clemson, 7-26
We were 3-0 and playing one of the top teams in the country, of course it's upsetting we lost, but I didn't lose much sleep over it. Considering we were playing the eventual national champions and heisman runner-up, we played decent. We had our chance, but Austin committed that silly safety. Also the halfback pass play was garbage.

34. 2011 Miami, 7-24
Georgia Tech really knows how to kick you when you are down. Eventual 'super high up on this list 2011 Virginia' had just given us our first blemish of the year in Charlottesville the week before, and looking to rebound we fell flat in Miami. Those two games back-to-back still eat at me. And also the fact Jacory Harris rocked us year in and year out.

33. 2016 MIami, 21-35
We had an extended rest before this game, but fumbilitis hit us hard. The fact Mark Richt beat us again makes me want to put this game a little lower on the list, but a week after losing to Clemson nobody expected us to win this game. I was peeved, but new we had a good shot at winning some ball games the rest of the year.

32. 2013 @Miami, 30-45
We jumped out to a lead in this one, so it was surely disappointing to lose. We were still supposed to be pretty good, after losing to VT by only 7 as our first loss. But Miami took us to the woodshed after we jumped up 17-7 on them.

31. 2008 @North Carolina, 7-28
I don't remember much about this game other than UNC's powerful running game killing us. We never got much going in this one. Was one of the first times we saw the Triple option running the way it shouldn't (other than the gardner-webb game).

30. 2015 @Notre Dame, 22-30
Super disappointing at the time, but looking back it doesn't mean to much. Obviously we were a team that people considered a dark horse contender so losing wasn't fun by any means. Losing in Notre Dame sucks, but the rest of this list is worse in my opinion.

29. 2009 @Miami, 17-33
After the offense struggled pretty much the entirety of both the first two games of the season, I wasn't surprised to see us struggle in this one and lose. In my head all week I saw Miami putting up big numbers and shutting down the option. Unfortunately, I was right.

28. 2015 Virginia Tech, 21-23
This game officially broke our bowl streak, or it'd be higher on the list.

27. 2015 Georgia, 7-13
Have any of you ever been this little excited about COFH?? I expected to be blown out but we actually hung in there pretty well. Disappointing because it was the gaggers but this was definitely the easiest GT/UGA loss i've dealt with.

I'm running out of time at work, so im just going to list the rest of them out for you.

2009 UGA is a no doubter in my opinion as #1. The next three are interchangeable depending on your preferance.

I have bad memories of Manhattan, Kansas to this day. Perhaps we have just done a UGAg 1940's trick and just not counted that game

Thank you for not posting lowlights.

Pretty good look.

Only big change I'd make would be to move 2012 ThugU game into Top 10. Orwin's boneheaded safety, blowing 4Q 36-17 lead, missed OL check in OT, etc etc

I'll take the Kansas loss as No. 1. No way we should have lost to that team.
The 09 Georgia loss is No. 2. For once, I thought we were better but couldn't stop a cutback run to save our lives.
The 13 loss to Georgia is No. 3. Weren't we up 20-0, with Vad Lee throwing all over them? The 10 loss wasn't bad because neither one of us was very good but what made that so bad was we forced three turnovers and got bupkes out of them but they got points off the first three turnovers they forced. Turnover 4 was Justin Houston's INT to seal it. The 12 loss to Georgia, yeah, they were a lot better than us. What bothers me is we just looked like we didn't want to be there and they were body slamming our backs and we did nothing about it ... Of course, they're now on a two-game home losing streak to us, so that makes up for it. Mutts.
Air Force bowl game loss is top 10. Drove all the way out to Shreveport for that crap. It was either go to the Falcons game against the Saints or go to Shreveport for the Tech bowl game. Both games wound up sucking like Christy Canyon.
The Iowa loss didn't bother me as much because their front 7 was luh-git. The 14 loss to FSU is a top 10er not because of the magnitude but damn that was a fun game. Just a great game. Fought all the way to the end.

2013 UGA should be #2 if not #1.

2009 UGA was more significant but we didn't blow the win as much as we did in 2013

Kansas and MTSU losses were the most embarrassing. 2009 and 2013 UGA games were the most painful to me.

To me the Kansas loss is mitigated by the epic beatdown we put on them the next year.

Although we blew the big lead in 13, it was inevitable. U(sic)GA had a great running game that we definitely couldn't stop. They just forgot they had it until we had the lead. Once they started feeding it to Gurley, that game was over. It hurt, but it was so easy to see coming a mile away. Being a Tech fan for a while told me that 20-0 lead was too good to be true. That's just not how we win against them.

09 hurt so much more, and when they planted their flag in the middle of our field, I almost couldn't take it.

True, I remember missing that FG to go up 23-0 and thinking we were in trouble. Or was it when we went for a FG instead of the TD to end the half? Can't remember

Kansas was pitiful to be sure but the MTSU loss isn't on CPJ in my opinion because our doofus DC at the time had a signal system that MTSU decrypted in about 10 seconds (the MTSU coach confided that to CPJ in the post-game handshake) so that loss is on our chessmaster DC who is now a greeter at Wal Mart.

I think the loss to UGa in 2009 was bad but to me, the absolute worst loss was the loss to UGa when they spotted us 20 points and we (Vad) missed a sure TD on a wide-open wheel route that would have put the game out of reach.

I guess it depends on what your ranking criteria is, but for me the Kansas loss is pretty low. That year the whole ACC sucked except for VT. That was easily Richt's worst UGA team. We could have kept them from being bowl eligible. The loss to Air Force in the bowl was just pathetic.

To me 09 UGA was and still is the worst loss in CPJ's tenure here at Tech. He even said so during the podcast interview with Zach Klein and Jeff Schultz. That was the one game in the past 15 years when we were clearly the better team and should have won. However, as he said, what no one knew outside of the program was that that was the week that the NCAA investigators was on campus in regard to the DT clothing issue and naturally everyone's focus was on that instead of the game.
PJ recalled in the lead up to the game he stressed to the defensive coaches that the only way that the mutts could win was if we allowed them to run the ball and control the time of possession. Well, enough said.
