They run out of coaches after about ten. I mean, they have MANY coaches ahead of Key who are in thetr first year. Several who haven't even lost a single game yet! öööö, they have BOB at 40 after one game where he demolished F$U. It's a joke. Napier should be ranked 1 through 5.

Southern may make a run at Pry. Very well regarded there from his time as Monken's DC.
Bohannon is a great guy, but he's been gone from the Boro for 20 plus years.

Yea. We are patient with coaches to a fault, so he should be near the bottom, not just because things are going well lately.

We haven't had a football or basketball coach for less than 3.5 years since the last millenium
 
Fun fact, I was just looking and we haven't had a football coach for only one season since 1903.

I tried to tell them that we had a coach worse than Chad Morris and they said no way. I will try to tell you that Arky had a coach worse than Jif and you will say no way.
 
That list gets extremely suspect down hill. Despite last Saturday they have Cristobal as ice colder than Kirby Smart.

Knowing nothing about either Arky or Chad Morris over the last few years...

  • I could believe that Morris was as bad a gameday coach as Geff.
  • I would struggle to believe Morris was as bad a practice coach as Geff.
  • There is no way I'd believe that Morris antagonized his fanbase as much as Geff.

It's based on absolute winning percentage. It should be based on wins vs. fan expectations.

GT fan expectation is 6 wins. A 7 win season is a good job.
FSU fan expectation is 10 wins. A 7 win season puts you on the hot seat.

It depends on the year. The past few seasons, including this one leading into the season, was “make a bowl”. That is pretty much our floor with the exception of some coaching transitions.

GT fans understand the situation Key inherited and the difficulty of this years schedule.

Those low expectations will not last.
 
Pry is the funniest to me. Guy was still getting ranked ahead of Key in coaching lists despite having a worse record while inheriting a better situation against an easier schedule and recruiting worse than Key.

He’s now 10-15 with no wins over P4 teams that finished with a winning record. The 10 wins:

ODU
Pitt
WF
Cuse
@BC
@UVA
Tulane

Currently has the 48th ranked class for ‘25. He’s probably a loss to Marshall or @ODU away from getting fired the next two weeks. How people hyped VT this year is still wild to me.
 
Actually I take that back, Norvell might be the funniest after winning COTY last year.
