coaches poll out

Oklahoma's no. 1, by a margin of... one point. I wonder if there's ever been a margin that thin at the top, especially this late in the year.

This isn't going to be enough to keep Florida out of the title game, is it?

Depends on Harris (not out yet) and the computers. The ELO_CHESS from Sagarin (which the BCS uses) has Oklahoma first, followed by Texas, Texas Tech, and then Florida.

Heading into the weekend, the analysts said that Florida would need to pick up a large majority of Alabama's first place votes to make the CG. If a certain percentage switched first place over to OU, Florida could be in trouble.

This might be very interesting.

Pleeeeeaaaaaaaase let it be OU vs. Texas, oh the injustice that would be and the undoing of the BCS!

There is no way the CG is not Fla vrs. Okl. Anything different and there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth to the likes no one has ever seen. The data will be massaged for the right outcome !!!

If the Harris is similar to the AP then it will be UF-OU
If the Harris has the same 44 vote gap between UF and UT it had last week then it will probly be a OU-UT rematch

Surprised that there havent been any leaks, I also wonder if the Harris voters were allowed to wait and see the CP before they submitted their vote. But if the Harris does the same thing that both the CP and AP did then its going to be a OU-UF title game

The Harris poll voters seem like a tight-knit group. In 2006, they played a big part in (thankfully) making sure Florida snuck into the championship game. I think they'll make sure Florida beats out Texas. A UT-OU rematch would be an unmitigated disaster.

Do they talk to each other about their votes beforehand, try to recruit other voters into voting blocs to ensure who they want in the game gets there?

Honestly, I'm purely speculating. The Harris voters are former coaches and AD's who tend to be a tight-knit fraternity. You can just look at Hayes' and Schembechler's relationship after they finished coaching as an example.

Logically it seems that it should be Texas/OU.

UF lost, at home, to Ole Miss.

Texas lost, on the road, to TT on the last play.

OU smoked TT.

I am not referring to how the teams are playing now, just taking to entire year into account.

If you don't win your conference, you have no business playing for a national championship. We can complain about TX getting shafted by the Big 12, but the fact is they didn't even win their division. UF and OU is the correct matchup.
