Time for some perspective hopefully:

1944 8-3 SEC Champs Orange Bowl loss
1945 4-6 SEC 5th

1944 W. A. Alexander
1945 R. L. Dodd

Discuss amongst yourselves, add other examples.
DAMN RIGHT I'm a YELLOW JACKET

Don't play that BS here. Dodd came in the year all the vets came back to college, and back to the football field. Tech's wartime advantage was quickly gone. Don't use mis-information to make a poor point.

Maybe you are better at Gator history.

BOO

Well, let's take it a few steps further:

1966 9-2 Dodd
1967 4-6 Carson

1971 6-6 Carson
1972 7-4-1 Fulcher

1973 5-6 Fulcher
1974 6-5 Rodgers

1979 4-6-1 Rodgers
1980 1-9-1 Curry

1986 5-5-1 Curry
1987 2-9 Ross

1991 8-5 Ross
1992 5-6 Lewis

1994 1-10 Lewis
1995 6-5 O'Leary

IMO, a constant changing of coaches bodes well for no one. At almost every school you look at, changing coaches within 5-6 years impacts for at leasT 2 more years. I know that there are exceptions. Since 1966, the HCs at Tech have stayed an average of less than 5 years each. About half the coaches left of their own accord (Fulcher, Curry, Ross & O'Leary) and about half left otherwise (Carson, Rodgers, Lewis).

I think one thing that frustrates many is that Tech had apparently "gotten back" to where we wanted to be. For example, 5 consecutive bowl games (though none really a major); a winning pct. over the last 4 years that was the best 4 year winning pct. since Dodd stepped down (1963-66: 30-11-1, .726; 1998-2001, 35-14, .714)

Dude All I did was look at the results on Ramblinwreck.com's history page.

If you want to challenge my GT pride come look at my apartment wall!!

All I'm saying is how many head coaches come in and have a team perform well in the first year.
