IMO. Overall I think they did a good job, but kicking a 47-yard field goal on 4th & 2 when your kicker is barely over 50% on the season just isn't a good move. And don't tell me hindsight is 20/20 because I thought it was a bad move from the start. If he had made it then great, but you have to play the odds in those situations. The other mistake was they should have stressed to Reggie to take a sack or throw it away unless it was wide open. In fact, they may have but if they did then they didn't stress it enough.

I would add a third one...

the offense has been pathetic the last 2 games. Why not put another QB in to spark the offense a little. Yes it is risky but I just don't see how our 2nd or 3rd team QB's could be any worse. What does a person have to do exactly to get benched or fired there? Look at Reggie, the kicker Bell, the special teams coach...

Agree 100%. Always play the percentages. Chances of picking up a tough two yards, about 40%. Chance of Bell making a pressure kick from 47 this year - ZERO!

No 20/20 hindsight with me either ...I wanted to go for it on 4th and 2 ...although I thought the kick was going to be good, but it indeed tailed to the left there at the end.

Yes, it was a bad choice on the field goal in that situation, and I said so before the kick was missed.

We just made way too many mistakes that shot ourselves in the foot. PJ made a run down to about the 10 yard line, but it was called back because we lined up wrongly. Also, one of the sacks on Reggie took us out of field goal range.

We were not consistent enough on offense to overcome the mental mistakes and poor passing accuracy. Our special teams kept giving UGA great field position, and we asked our defense to save us one too many times.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I booed when I saw our FG kicking unit run out onto the field. This decision really killed our momentum and turned the game around.

Bad move even if our kicker was 100% IMHO. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/twocents.gif

Put the ball in PJ's hands with a minute or so to go and a first down on the 11. Let the senior do it. Tell the O Line and Cox they better block like their lives depend on it. Two timeouts this time. More time on the clock and once again we pull an NC State.

I hate to paraphrase something Dooley said, but he was correct when he said that three things can happen on a pass play and two of them are bad.

That's exactly right. I was wanting to put it in PJ's hands when we got the 1st down at the 11, also. I guess we didn't learn a thing from the NC State disaster. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bash.gif

"the last TWO games?" Maybe you have been seeing things I have not. The O last night was the same, for the most part, as the last 2 years.

I am certainly not the first to say that RB decides where the pass is going before he squats under center.
His throw supposedly intended for Bilbo was as predertimined as any.
I'm pretty sure he thought uga defenders would leave DBo uncovered for a short gain, and pay their attention to CJ.

I don't think the coverage was even looked at. If it was, that would possibly be a bigger problem.
