Coach\'s Press Conference via phone

For those of you who do not use this resource I suggest everyone to listen to the coach's updates via phone. Just call 404-894-5507 and press 11.

I would be interested in hearing everyone's comments from this Sunday's press conference.

Re: Coach\'s Press Conference via phone

Seems to me he was very defensive. Very short and uninformed answers. You can sense the stress-he says he is not frustrated, but it sounds it to me.I'm surprised he did not watch the UVA game. I would think you would want to watch it. I am a FOC, but not sure I understand his methods quite yet.

From listening to Chan and observing him once doing his radio show at the Commune restaurant, he strikes me as both defensive and seething with anger. He got his back up when asked the tougher Q's by callers. I was thinking he must be having a hard time thinking over the apparent anger.

Where is it coming from? Dallas?

Just an opinion.

I never thought I'd say this - but I agree 100%.

I feel that in another 5-6 weeks it'll be virtually a concensus.

And believe me, I'm not normally one to jump ship fast - but this (to ME anyway) has a certian B.L. feel to it.. This is based largly on how the team seems to be (not) prepared mentally or physically - and how they are folding at the first sign of adversity - and more importantly, in the second half at UMD (look at the tape) I wish I could count the number of times, offensively or defensively - a player 4-5 yards from the play simply didn't get involved....Can you imagine that from a FSU team for instance ?

Can ANYONE recall seeing a performance under GOL like teh second half vs. UMD ? .......waiting.....Didn't think so....But I do recall seeing a LOT of that kind of play in the era just before GOL......Its smells very bad to me

Re: Coach\'s Press Conference via phone

what is really worrysome is, unless there is pure mutiny, david braine will not let chan go after 1 season. if chan stays for 2 seasons and we only win 4 or 5 games next season, it will be 3 or 4 years before we can recover. we must be heard at the end of this season, this dog wont hunt.

Re: Coach\'s Press Conference via phone

One more thing...I am NOT suggesting that players aren't really hurt or anything like that whatsoever....but..

Maybe its just coincidence - but it sure seems like there are always many more injuries and players out for various reasons as losses add up...I noticed this during the era in the early to mid 90's (the seemingly rash of injuries)

Why even start the kind of speculation?

goldrush, I'd be careful about drawing that type of conclusion. Are you saying the kids quit? You also need to consider your logic, does losing = more injuries or does more injuries = losing? Either could be true, but which comes first and which causes the other (if either does).

Re: Coach\'s Press Conference via phone

Chan Gailey does not have a clue. No fire, no motivation, no leadership....no plan.
TECH was simply his way to get back to Georgia to semi-retire....semi????...heck it looks like full retirement.
I am really having a hard time imagining any coach that we could have possibly hired being as unprepared and doing as pathetic a job as Gailey has.
TECH deserved and deserves better than this.

I'm not saying that at all.

But I have noticed a trend that there seem to be more injuries when a team is losing vs when they are winning (and it seems to be a trend that occurs after the losing has started. Something I noticed during the waning days of B.L.

Maybe it has something to do with conditoning, or perhaps the type of conditioning ? (not that this would account for all of the injuries obviously) - just a thought...

Or maybe its that those types of injuries that are "borderline", go one way when winning and one way when losing...I really don't know - just an observation
