The thing about the NIU game that continues to bother me is how the NIU coach went public before the game to say that he was going to go jumbo on the OL and just shove the ball down our throat. And our staff had no answer. We went 60 minutes with no answer.

That's what I miss about CPJ - he would make adjustments. We apparently don't have anyone on staff who can diagnose what the other team is doing and make some tweaks to counter it.

I don’t remember him saying that before the game. He did say it after.
 
What bothers me now about NIU more than anything is that we have now have a reputation for being soft and easy. TStan may not see it, but our opponents know what we are. Our reputation went from a team no one wanted to play because of our “gimmicky” offense looking to trash knees to a team that everyone wants to play and backup players parents make sure they attend. Collins has become a laughingstock. Between his lack of coaching ability, his lack of game planning, and the handshake that made headlines and has become a meme on social media our reputation is trash. Even UGA fans who normally show no mercy are showing pity. Its just weird.

Yep. Not sure how that is really different from half the girls at Agnes Scott back in my day. Call girl would prolly be cheaper in the long run.
 
Weird ending to a good game. No doubt both teams are better than the 2021 Yellow Jackets.

Now I have flipped over to North Dakota St vs James Madison. Not sure anyone could prove to me that the 2021 Yellow Jackets could beat either of these teams, either.

Fargodome has crappy artificial turf of course - I mean, there really isn't an option. But at least it looks better than the cheapass turf at BDS. Pretty sad.

I hope this isn't the state of our program, where we watch all the teams that beat us, which is almost all of them, to determine that we really weren't that bad. Yes, we were. We suck. Any decent team with our schedule would have at least won six. I will grant you this, that NIU shows that with even middling talent, if you are prepared and play with discipline and maximum effort, you can win more than three games. It is three years later and I am still stunned we lost to The Citadel. A loss that will live in infamy as they say.
