College Football Playoff

For the 12th game of the year, the teams could play red shirted players also to give the fans and coaches some preview of next year.
I expect a ground swell to develop for my playoff system in the coming weeks.

Eight teams is plenty under two scenarios.

1) All the NCAA is aligned into eight conferences as proposed. Every conference has a championship and every team has a chance to get to that champioship by winning more games in its division. THEN, the regular season really would be the initial part of the playoff. But then the regular season would matter for reasons other than winning style points with voters.

2) Recognize that in any given year no more than two non-BCS schools are legitmate contenders. Play the six conference champions with two at-large and any undefeated teams get automatic bids for the at-large bids.

Texas would still get screwed this year, but under this system the Big 12 would probably change the tie-breaker. The current tie-breaker is a product of the BCS itself.


P.S.
The realignment is the subject of another debate. Do you start from scratch and go regionally like the NFL? Or do you take the top eight conferences and divvy up the rest of the teams to try to even out the conference strength. Either would cause come weaker teams to consider dropping down a division; and that's not a bad thing either.
 
I think it would be great if someone would just mail me a million dollars in nonconsecutive unmarked bills.

In the current system we would have to go undefeated and untied AND therefore win the ACC; and then hope that two other teams didn't do the same.

Under a playoff at least we would have a chance to win it on the field. And if we didn't win it on the field, then we didn't deserve it anyway.
 
11 game season.

16 team playoff.

11 Auto Bids (conferences). I know this sucks, but you have to be "fair" even if they do not deserve it.

10 At large teams determined by a committee play in a traditional bowl game to "earn" the 5 at large spots.

Note: If ND wants to complain, then they can join a conference.

If deposited at a bank, the money would be traced to your account. You know, just in case you hold somebody ransom or take FBI undercover drug money at some point in the future.
