Back in the day, if you held a team under 14, that was a win for the defense. 14-20 was a push and 21 or more points was a win for the offense. But that was the days of I-formation and actually allowing the DB to play defense.

So, where do you draw the line with up tempo offenses and player safety rules?

I’m leaning towards:

20 or less - defensive win/offensive loss
21-27 - push
28+ - offensive win/defensive loss
