Colorado's Go-Go Offense

is OC Brennan Marion's creation. Ran it at UNLV, going 9-5 in 2023 and 11-3 in 2024. Became HC at Sacramento State, went 7-5 running it in 2025 (team went 3-9 in 2024). Took a 10-3 Syracuse team to overtime in 2024 (maybe Fran will give his buddy Brent the lowdown on it). UNLV averaged 35 ppg in 2024.

Odd-looking formation, two backs lined up to one side of the QB on most downs. Uses a lot of motion and unbalanced formations to create gaps for power backs to go North-South. Requires QB to make quick reads, but not necessarily designed for a running QB, seems more geared toward backs hitting gaps at full speed. Looks similar to TO, but Marion uses more designed pass plays than CPJ ever did (not hard to do).

Safe to say CU's offense will look noticeably different from last year's game. Maybe why Deion has limited media access to practice. Curious to see how well they're executing it in week one, but Marion clearly is good at running it.

I think we win that game. I’m more worried about Tennessee.
 
If we put a few long drives together with our superior running backs and short game, and Colorado has a few three and outs running that offense, their defense is going to wilt. They better hope for a non humid night. If we get a 90 degree day and humidity, they gonna be in trouble.

My guess is they will gash us early with some well-crafted plays we aren’t ready for but they can’t run that system effectively until maybe November. Their entire two-deep have never seen each other until a few months ago. Its basically a pick-up team with a lot of good athletes who have never played together.

Just have to wait and see what the go go looks like, cause their lips are sealed.

but what about the altitude?

Reminds me of when Miami headed up amd we beat them pretty badly that night. The announcers made the comment about the Miami players gathering around the sidelines heaters. We were acting like the 1975 Pittsburgh Steelers. Nice night for a game. Miami quit.

Colorado, if it is warm and humid out, will face something they do not face in Colorado. Sweat doesn't evaporate. You get hotter and hotter. You can't breathe through the humidity.

It's been like that down here @ my house in SOWEGA, for the past couple of days. No breeze 100% humidity... Walk outside, you're instantly in a sweat and you can hardly breathe. Let's hope our men are ready and trained up for and that CU can't stop thinking about it and that they get gassed pretty quick and stay that way!
