10 Coaches that have "must-win" games on Saturday
With the arrival of November the pressure is ratcheted up as many coaches move into games that are in the "must-win" category. In fact, a must-win game was played last night, with Chan Gailey really needing a win against Virginia Tech at home and not getting it. Gailey is now 42-31 (.575) in 6+ seasons at Georgia Tech, and we cannot believe that is good enough for a school with Georgia Tech's history and tradition in the game of college football. The AD at Tech, Dan Radokovich now has a tough evaluation of Gailey with 3 games remaining on the schedule. A trip to play Duke, and then North Carolina and Georgia at home would almost always mean at least 2 more wins for Tech, but would even a 7-5 record get it done for Gailey? One thing is certain, Gailey has very little margin for error as the '07 season winds down, and a win against Georgia and Mark Richt on November 24th might be necessary for Gailey to retain his job. It doesn't help any that Gailey is 0-5 against the Dogs, and a 6th straight loss might be even more than his most steadfast supporters at Tech can stomach. Now that Gailey has been one of the first coaches to fail in a "must-win" game let's look at 10 other coaches that face almost do or die situations this Saturday.
