1. I would like to see GT (Nix/Gailey) continue to push the team even when they have the lead early. It become obvious early on that "eating up the clock" become a LARGE role in game plan.

2. Would have liked to see them go to the air a bit more on the 3 & 6 play in the 3rd quarter....Stay aggressive on both sides of the ball. Was nice to see the 1st string D out there until late in 3rd quarter...You want your guys to have the conditioning/strength to be able to go the distance & know what it's like at game speed (like the ND game)...Tenuta never stops HAMMERING the opponent...Not saying run up the score w/o any mercy but I hope that Nix will get more aggresive w/ Bennett on the field as he gets more reps & maybe even some reps w. 1st string offensive (incase #1 gets hurt).....

3. I am anxious to continue to see improvement on speed of plays coming out of the back field w. the RB hitting holes....Choice seemed to have a tough go there at first & Grant danced around a little as well. I also hope to see Evans on the field more since he can't be redshirted & they said he was ready to play college football....

All this said to say that no team is PERFECT nor will the execution ever be PERFECT. I am excited about the season & where we are currently. Looking forward to the GT vs. VT. I believe that if we WIN that game & have good showing that.....GT will begin to be seen as a legitimate team this year by everyone.....

THANKS GUYS FOR THE "W" LAST NIGHT....I WAS IMPRESSED. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE REST OF THE SEASON. HATS OFF FOR BEING PREPARED & EXCUTING ON A SHORT WEEK.....THANKS FOR MAKING THE GT NATION PROUD!!!! ENJOY THE WEEKEND...

Agreed completely. Tech executed both the offence and defence well last night. The biggest area for improvement that I saw was our corners -mainly Word-Daniels. He's only a sophomore and has a lot of potential, but he got smoked last night on the stop-and-go. They should have sat him a play to put his jock-strap back on. That's the only negative comment I'll make about the game last night. Overall it was a well-executed game - wish I had been in Atlanta to see it live. 3-1!!!

Absolutely wonderful !

As always questions:
1) 2 half - 3rd. and 8 to go - Q.B. option which really has not work all night - me and the 20 people around me are wondering what the heck!

2) 3rd and abt 18 - shotgun formation and we hand the ball to the tailback ????? 3 yards at best!!!!!

3) I can't stand soft covering by the D Backs especially in the 2nd half giving them 5 to 7 yards...never have understood it and never will.

4) Blown coverage on there touchdown is totally unacceptable.

5) But saw much absolutely wonderful progress overall.

It was 3rd and a short 6, and we wanted to keep the clock running. I agree with the playcall in so much as it should work if run properly, but we really haven't shown the ability to properly run that play this year. We need to abandon the speed option in favor of a pitch. The option look isn't fooling anyone. The guy chasing Reggie ends up tackling the pitchman anyway.

I would have liked to have seen Bennett going for the end zone at least once. He needs to have confidence that he can get it done. He should'nt have been put out there just to take a knee and run out the clock. He should at least get some meaningful snaps. An extra TD just might have put us in the top 20. But I guess we should'nt be ranked going into Blacksburg, because it will make our guys more hungry.

Absolutely agree.

Here again 3rd down during I think his first series and they have Bennet hand it off instead of a pass..........go figure!

I've felt the same way about Bennett (or any other GT back-up QB). The back-up needs to get in some meaningful offensive snaps. There is no better game prep than playing time in an actual game. But Bennett does need to be able to throw, hand off and make decisions and work a sustained drive. I understand about 'running up the score' and what-not, but there is nothing wrong with turning your back-up loose and letting him 'play'.

I think what happened with UGA this year is a prime example. I watched their game against Western Kentucky (don't know why that game was televised) and Stafford got in the game in the fourth and led UGA right down the field with runs and several passes that led to a score. I also noticed that after the game the WK coach did not shake Richt's hand ...but who cares! Stafford was all of the sudden pressed into duty against South Carolina and he was ready.

TB was 1 for 1 last night. Of course, so was Mike Cox.

If you have the second string QB out there, then you're obviously not out there to run up the score in the first place. Last I checked, the defense still has to show up and play, so yeah, I expect Bennett to get the green light to pass and utilize the full playbook, regardless of the score. It's still game time and it's still live competition. It's not the second string offense's responsibility to stop making the opposing defense look bad.
