Sucessful, yes, if you mean program income exceeds outlay, paychecks are on time, bills paid, etc.

Champion, asskickers, NO!

I see posts how the Admin is not committed to winning and I think that is a bunch of crap. I have seen NO EVIDENCE that GT is not committed to having a successful football program.

1. we pay our coach more than Ugag (given the size of stadium and revenue that is UNBELIEVABLE)

2. we have just spent millions on a stadium renovation THAT INCREASED THE SIZE OF THE STADIUM

Does the admin want players that can take classes and have a legitimate shot at graduating HELL YES.

If you do not think GT should be seeking student athlete then you should start watching football on SUNDAYS.

If they DO NOT have a reasonable shot at getting a degree then they should not be coming to school at Tech.

Amen...

People have lost sight of what the Institute is all about and it's mission.

It is to produce graduates that can perform above all others the first day they step into Industry after graduation. Not to step onto the football field, and perform there.

Can we have both? Absolutely, but not at the cost of undermining the mission of the Institute. If you can't graduate from this school in ANY of our degree programs, then you don't have any business being here.
