Let me try to energize this otherwise lethargic board with a little thought starter. PLEEEESE remember to try to be constructive and thoughtful while looking FORWARD with our football program and NOT looking backward.

Consistency. We constantly hear this word from CCG. It's a big word and it's a key word for our offense and for our football program. I think one of the hallmarks of ANY successful team, business, etc is consistency. If we can manage to corrall that concept and produce CONSISTENTLY good play in all phases we are gonna be a special team, a winning team, and a team we can ALL be very proud of.

Offensively CONSISTENCY is what we've been lacking of late. That's ALL I'm gonna say about GT football in the past tense. The practice I attended last Saturday had the offense being pretty consistent once the scrimmage began. D-Bo seemed to "get it" and made some pretty smart decisions and played pretty well overall. Not his best, mind you, but pretty consistent. Now this week of our three practices, we have NOT been consistent offensively. Some of this has to do with not having all our top lineman at practice, but some of it has to do with not being able to grasp things and play well consistently. I'm guessing that consistency is a tough thing to grasp when you're 18, 19, 20 yrs old. Also, like it or not, some of our guys are probably reading their own press and when you're that young and reading good stuff about yourself, you have a tendency to slack off and not play to your potential since your ego is still swimming in self-praise. Furthermore, we're installing a new offense so grasping that offense and executing it consistently is gonna be difficult at this point.

Again, once we do manage to start playing consistently...that is knowing what we need to do to succeed and doing it...CONSISTENTLY, we are gonna be one fine football program. And I don't beelieve that day is THAT far away!

From what i'm hearing from Chan G the OL seems to be the problem right now with pass protection, but i believe that will come around.Question people that have been to practice is the QB's really being judged fairly? Do they have enough time to drop back and see the field?I'm just wondering, and one of the latest RAMBLINGWRECK practice report CG said the DB's and CB's looked good.CAN OR WILL SOMEBODY CLEAR THIS PICTURE UP FOR ME because i'm hearing from poster's that the QB's and DB's look like trouble spots. GTT MASTER B ANYBODY!

Tommie, I suppose it depends on the practice you attend. At last Saturday's practice, Bilbo had decent time and pass protection and seemed to do pretty well. With that said, it looked to my VERY untrained eye that the DB's were holding their own fairly well. Again, just one idiot's observation.

More things continue to be installed on both sides of the ball. Not sure where they are, but would guess they're pretty close to having things in and ready for more reps. Don't know honestly. Just a guess on my part from what I've seen in practice to this point.

A lot of goal line work yesterday and today after starting with full drives.

We look really good on D off the corner at DE. When you mix that in with different stunts and blitz protection isn't what it should be, but it's improved. Last Sat it was pretty sharp. There are times when QB has time. There are times he doesn't. Like CG said and JacketFanPCB as brought up..consistency.

Really like what I saw at in defensive backfield at both corner and safety. It's gotten better and better as spring has moved along. Like CG reported there was one break down in red zone today that he's obviously not happy about. We're not seeing wrs wide open.

We're without Dorsey and Robinson so everyone is getting a lot of reps at OL. The OL has come a long way since start of spring, just not where you'd want it to be for game ready.

Some serious hitting today with out LB and Safeties on goal line. Nice stand with ball inside the 5. Reis cracked Camp rolling out trying to get to corner for a score. Very nice lick not letting him get in. Butler stood PJ Daniels up on the goal line not giving him an inch as you saw D. Smith yelling all pumped up with the big blow. Very nice stand.

Some nice ball movement by Bilbo on goal where Sampson busted through there for a score.

Excited about all of you coming to spring game to look at that goal line stuff they've installed. I'll talk about it in chat. This probably isn't the best place to discuss formations at this point.

We're not where we've going to be. We've continued to improve thoughout the spring. Where O really got it done last Sat. The D has had upperhand Friday and Satureday, but there are still plays being made.
