Could have played next week...

Stansbury said that the ACC approached us about playing a game next week (during the bye), apparently related to the Wake/ND postponement. We declined, which is good given our injury situation. I guess they're trying to shuffle things around to make rescheduling work. I wonder who we would have played. Add Wake to the schedule and drop somebody else?

Pretty crazy to think that we could possibly end up changing up our schedule on a week's notice during the season.

My guess is they would have moved our ND game up to next week (looks like they currently have a bye that week) so they could schedule a different opponent on Halloween.

Compared to scheduling 7+ games in a row with no bye weeks I think the ACC did ok. So much for those "safety first" conferences

That's a bit harsh. I think most of us realized that this season would be "unconventional" and the ACC is handling it better than most.

More than harsh it’s a downright stupid take. ACC has handled this season better than anybody so far. The willingness to shuffle schedules while still giving teams veto power is exactly what I would hope for this season.

I actually would have tried to play ND next week. They are getting hit hard with quarantined players right now and we should be getting a group back next week. Best case we get them at a vulnerable time while gaining a bye week (increasing probability of playing all 11 games). Worst case they cancel and we’re back where we started.

It really doesn't matter any which way. This season is all about the $ and making sure schools don't go underwater too far. Whoever wins will have an asterisk next to their name or at the very least the other close contenders complaint about covid season blah blah. We watch football and be glad we don't have to see the entire season replaced with lame ass competitive cornhole league.

I'd prefer no changes to the schedule unless/until they become necessary. Glad we declined.

The ACC is a ööööing clown show

Why? Because they're willing to be dynamic and adapt / adjust to a constantly changing, fluid situation?
Things change. There's new information.
The dumbest thing in the world is to criticize anything by saying "They're constantly changing their plan...".
That is WAY different contextually then changing one's mind with the wind.

Adjust hell. Saying "hey guys, play next week?" to a team missing an entire DL, our top two TE's, a starting CB is clown show

They would crush us only using 2nd string players. We are no where near their level.

Based on what? Them beating Duke?

Grow a pair man, if there’s ever a season for unexpected upsets it’s this one.
Facts:
Duke has owned us for years.
UCF had almost 700 yards against us.
We have averaged 18 points per game so far—even though so many on this board talked about UCF having a soft DL before the game.
One of my testicles has yet to drop.

..... or be forced to watch games against directional schools, or worse, games against division 2 schools.
