it is WAY EARLY but

1. the next one is BDS

2. it appears that Stafford and Knowshow will leave this year

3. Our offense should be better but our D-line will suffer but LB's and DB's should improve

based on a back of the envelope analysis we will likely be favored next year and even money the year after

Could you imagine the hellstorm if Richt were to lose the next couple.

According to the guys on 790 last Tuesday he would be let go ... no matter what because UGA is supposed to win 8 out of 10 or else they will make personnel changes.

Only if the UGA fanbase is rational and recognizes that GT is the better team (if that is in fact the case).

So, no chance in hell he survives losing to us 3 in a row. Well, maybe 3, not 4 or 5. Especially if he can't beat Florida either.

He would survive 3 if they performed well otherwise. He has built some goodwill from the prvious record.

The question is whether he could perform well otherwise while losing to GT.

I think he would survive until his personal record fell below .500 against GT.

HOWEVER, I also think he would get out on his own long before that happened. He would be in demand at many schools assuming he doesn't implode over multiple seasons.

Not a chance. A couple more games like this against us and UF and those inbreds will turn on him.

I think if he loses to both us and Florida again next year, he'll either be forced to cut his staff, or he'll be inches away from out the door. I think most UGA fans were delusional enough to accept losing to UF 4 out of 5 tries because they could walk all over us. Ain't happening any more. If they lose the bowl game this year, then there will be a very vocal collection of gaggers calling for his head. I want to know who they'd replace him with though.

Eh, Georgia's a pretty good job. I don't think there are too many schools that he could go to that could be considered a step up. The two jobs that Dawg Nation has been most worried about losing him to have been FSU (and they've already got Jimbo Fisher as their next coach) and Miami (which, if Randy Shannon doesn't work out, may be the most likely place he'd go to, and even then I'd put that at pretty long odds).

I think UGA would have to have a number of mediocre seasons for Richt's job security to be in danger, even including a losing streak to us. He's certainly earned a much longer leash than Donnan or Ray Goof (I love this put-down by the Ol' Ball Coach) had.

One thing I heard on Brandon and Woolvey today that I thought was interesting is that this really is the first season under Richt where the fan base is truly disappointed in how their season turned out. And I feel for them, really I do... not.

I'm not convinced yet that Jimbo Fisher will be the next head coach at FSU, despite all of the head coach in waiting crap. For an offensive coordinator, he sure does suck. I can see Richt ending up back down there or UM, considering that he played there. Although I think the idea of former players coming back to UM may not be appealing after Shannon is fired.

Yeah, agreed. I meant to put "apparently" their next head coach in there. If they go 7-5 or 8-4 and the offense doesn't click, then Bowden retires, the temptation to look around a bit for a new coach could be pretty strong.

If he loses badly to FL again and we take him to the woodshed next year, then Martinez is gone.

If the same thing happens for the third year, he will be at the end of his career. If it happens a fourth time, he's gone.

BTW, he ain't winning the next two against either us or FL, sot his is gonna be fun to watch!

Florida will lose Tebow and you just don't know when new quarterbacks come into the picture. Big time programs just disappear sometimes with new quarterbacks

FL isn't going anywhere. Losing Tebow won't ruin their program not with Urban there...

Are you really so sure that Tebow is going to be gone? By most draft boards that I have seen(granted I have not looked in a few weeks), it looks as though he is not even a top 10 QB for the draft.

Yeah, Tebow is like Tyler Hansborough (sp?) in that he's one of those four year guys that just loves the college atmosphere. The difference is that I actually like Tebow, and don't pray for the scaffolding to fall on him while he's at the free throw line and Jay Bilas is verbally fellatiating him.

A couple more wins against UGA and the idiot fans will start calling for Richt's head on a platter. We need them to get rid of Richt so they're forced to make another coaching hire, and hopefully they'll pick another Goff or Donnan.

Donnan lost his job after three straight losses to GT (and UF). Richt would also be gone after three straight losses.

UGA fans are unrealistic. They'll never find another coach better than Richt anytime soon
