CPJ on 790 The Zone at 8:30AM*

790 The Zone giving GT all the love this morning --UGA is getting the heat.

re: Zeir quote .. "I thought it was kinda funny."

"I think pregame talks and halftime talks are way overrated."

"We're still not very good."

Q: "Can you really play better than 400 yards rushing on the road at Georgia?"

"Sure we can play a lot better. We're not close to where we should be yet."

(wow)

Cellini: Can you win a national championship at Georgia Tech?
CPJ: "[Winning national championships] is why I came here"

I'm also thankful to Cellini (or whoever) asked the "800 lb gorilla" question - What will you do when your phone rings? CPJ made me feel better that he's gonna be around for a while.

I expect ND to fire fat charlie any day. Then he'll get a call. God I hope we can do what it takes to keep him around.

Cellini: "(laughing, quoting PJ) 'We've got a zillion things to work on,' haha, that's awesome."

"we have a zillion things we need to work on to get better"

I hope you all noted the plural in CPJ's statement.

Was it someone on Stingtalk who made the comment that Richt's best team (preseason #1) lost to Johnson's worse team at GT?

Can anyone elaborate on what PJ said when asked about the phone calls he's about to be getting from other schools?

Said he's got an eye toward the Georgia defensive coordinator job if it opens next year, but that's it.

I think I heard him laughing in the background during the question. He said he's happy here and has a lot more work to do. He said something like "The GT job is not the first job I've been offered," the obvious implication being that he *chose* to come to Tech and intends to stay, at least for a while.

Later (again summarizing) he said he believes he can win national championships (note the plural) here.

I feel *a little* better.

I still think his phone will ring. We need to make sure we do what we have to do to keep him here. I believe he's the best thing that's hit our football program since Coach Dodd. We need to make sure he never has a reason to leave.

He said he's very happy here.

Heard a funny joke here this morning about Tech fans making T-shirts telling other schools "To Keep their hands off our Johnson!" Would be a pretty good shirt. :)
