Did anyone else watch the presser yesterday?

CPJ is always a little salty, but his final comment —

"Would you expect [Miami] will play you similar to the way they played last year?"
"I would expect. They had pretty good success. [pause] They almost scored as many as we did."

— maybe reflects an extra level of frustration that we've shot ourselves in the foot so many times in the recent past against Miami.

But his comment is a little hollow since in fact Miami's offense did score as many as GT's offense. Then their defense chipped in two more TD's.

I think the insinuation is how did he expect them to play us defensively (as opposed to as a whole team) and his point was that their D almost scored as much as our O so why change D.

This made me more curious about last years game. Just went back and looked at stats. Miami punted 6 times. We had 40 minutes TOP, more 1st downs, and more yards than them. We have got to get the turnover problem solved this week. That was the absolute deciding factor in the game last year. They scored once in the 2nd half on a drive with 2 long passes. Other than that, they had 3 3-and-outs and 2 4-and-outs in the 2nd half. I feel more confident in our defense this year, so as long as our O can produce, we can win this game.

I didn't think about it that way. That puts a totally different spin on it. CPJ, humble-in-the-face-of-defeat, not CPJ, annoyed-the-defense-lost-the-game-again. I like it much better. Thanks —

I'm a big fan of TOP, but in this case it is skewed by their two defensive TDs. Our O had two more possessions than theirs.

We shoot ourselves in the foot more often when we play Miami than against anyone else (except, maybe the Dwags).

Their g d luck runs out this weekend. With a vengeance.

I don't usually make up my mind in advance how our games will turn out but I cannot shake the idea that we are going to kill them.

Those defensive TDs didnt skew TOP. Both were on the 2nd play of each drive. The first for 52 seconds and the second for 46 seconds. Its not like we ran 6 minutes of clock then gave up a scoop and score then did it again. Those two possessions only accounted for a minute and a half of TOP.
