CPJ voted in GA Sports Hall of Fame

There is a misconception that he was a one-trick pony. Saw all of Hawaii’s games in 92 - he was the OC for, I think -Bob Wagner. They were just killing people with whatever the heck that offense was but it wasn’t the 30. First time I had ever seen a formation with two QBs at the same time.

They had a heavyweight, 12-round, slugfest vs BYU back when LaVell Edwards was their coach - probably one of the best games I’ve ever seen in person outside of BDS. They went on to crush Illinois in a bowl back when IL was pretty good.

Good to see he’s getting his due.

PJ told me that with those Hawaii teams, they would get to the LOS, look at the defense, and start laughing, telling defenders "you're not stopping this." They'd even tell the defense what play they were running and where they were going.

My admin’s husband was the db coach for that team so I got the best seats in the house for all the home games that year. I wish he had run that offense here. It was a thing of beauty.

And those guys for BYU were flat out nasty. After they would score, they would flip off the fans close to the field and just stare everybody down. Of course, Hawaii was loaded with Samoans who were as mean as anybody from BYU.

Angry Samoans was a great band.

Just looked at the rest of the class. A ton of mutts - Cris Carpenter, Thomas Davis, McCann and Claude Felton.
Felton is the long time SID at Georgia. Aside from being a mutt, he is a class guy.
