CPJ: "We played as poorly on offense as I can ever remember a team playing"

I think PJ isn't counting the Garner Webb game because it was a very limited offensive plan with on QB reads and very vanilla play calling.

Still, you would expect we would be able to line up and push GW around, which is what PJ said.

The question in my mind is why were that many assignments missed? Was it due to poor execution on the player's part or was UNC doing something that made us miss?

1) 4 starters out on the o-line
2) Nesbitt obviously not 100%
3) UNC is good
4) 1 senior had PT on offense
5) First year of 3-O offense

I'd be willing to bet that at least 30 of the missed assignments came from the OL. Nothing against them it is just be far our weakest point in the team.

The rest probably came from WR, AB blocking assignments.

We'll get there...sooner than later I think.

I'll be willing to bet that the QB missed more assignments than anybody last week. He's hurt, get off the field.

As CPJ stated at half time, something like ..... "We excuted poorly on the triple-O. Linebackers making plays and we were loading them."

If you watch a replay of the game, the "A-Back" is assigned to execute a seal block on the LB. The gang missed many, many of these blocks.

Look at how often the QB is tackled by LB's. NC did good at covering the dive, but execution on the corners was not very good.

Yes, the OL needs a lot of improvement, but in this game, the poor execution was wide-spread from what I saw.

Year #1 (remember guys) ..... I look forward to the future of GaTech football.
