"We'll want to change. I don't expect that to be the case much. I've got the utmost confidence in the guys coaching on defense, but yeah, to answer your question, if we're blitzing every down and we're not getting there, yeah, I'll say, 'Stop blitzing.' Really, though, as long as there is a sound reason for what you're doing, I believe in letting guys coach."

As far as the quote goes, it's hard to say whether it's a good quote or a bad one. He's essentially saying he'd do exactly what we used to harsh on Gailey for doing with the offense, if you think about it.

I guess in the end "HC Meddling" is only good if it works. /shrug.

I'm ok with a coach "meddling" if he knows what he's talking about. Besides, I don't think it's possible for a head coach to "meddle". He's the freaking head coach, the one in charge, the one who gets all the blame. If I'm a HC I'm going to have a say.

I think most people were upset with Chan because his ideas sucked, yet he continually forced them on the offense.

I don't care if Johnson wants to be up in the box or calling in plays blindly from a local bar. If what he is doing works, I'll be happy.

that is a big part. The other part is the practice attendees could never figure out why the plays we ran in practice never made the field.

Cartman:(Turning around to see everyone) All right!! Hold on just a second here, are you telling me that if you have this Tourette Syndrome you can say what ever you want all the time and never get in trouble?
Cartman: Wait, wait, wait, woah, woah, woah, you're telling me there is an illness that makes you blow out obscenities?
Cartman: ... I've got a golden ticket.. I've got a golden twinkle in my eye..I've got a golden chance to make my way!
Awesome episode....

How do you choke on a liquid?

Just a thought.

I don't really think it's the same thing. Gailey meddled without reason (well, it was his freakin' playbook) and it didn't work. CPJ's saying he'll meddle if it doesn't work. Also, I think (hope) he'll be smart enough stop if his ideas doesn't work. I do agree with your last point though.
