I was just wondering how much PT Wright will see. I do not believe that he played during the Clemson game. I know that he fumbled one of his only carries during the GW game....but now that he has burned his red shirt year....What can we expect to see in his role in the upcoming games?

It will be interesting to see if he will start returning punts or catching some screen passes or what?
I mean the kid has got some serious speed & surely CPJ will work him into the rotation now that he's no longer redshirted....

Tell me your thoughts/predictions on when he will play...

I gotta believe that he will get back on the field & will begin to see more PT as he gains game experience...However...when/where this will come has me CURIOUS...

He is seriously fast. He runs a 4.36 40 yd dash. Maybe he could be a good Punt Returner/Kick off returner. I guess it all depends on how sure his hands are.

I still disagree with burning the red-shirt, but PJ knows more than I do. I assume Marcus will just get mop-up duty at A-Back. He is fast, but that doesn't necessarily translate into a good returner. Plus, his issues seem to be with ball security, which is the #1 priority of any kind of returner. There is nothing worse for momemtum than to force a punt and then to give the ball back 40 yards further down-field.

I would guess that if he doesnt play in the next 2 games he will have a season ending injury in practice (cough, cough) and apply for a medical redshirt (cough, cough).

Lets hope. (cough, cough)

It sucks having to activate him, but PJ really had no choice.

Is there any kind of limit on plays while still maintaining a redshirt or if you touch the field do you automatically lose it?

There are medical redshirts where you get injured and you haven't played any significant time. I've always associated that with early season injuries but I'm not so sure about this far into the season.

I'm thinking we'll need him before it's all said and done. There is a lot of football to be played. This deal for a huge season is just getting tuned up!! Fire Up THE RAMBLIN WRECK!!!

I'm excited about what we are as a team, but more excited about what we can be. Depth is an issue with this team. I'd love for us to red shirt everyone, but that hasn't happened for good reason. We have to field a team that can win and also make sure people are ready to play if someone goes down.

GO JACKETS!!

Exactly. If he has chronic fumblitist, it doesn't matter if they burn his redshirt or not because he will ride the pine while he is here. Also, IIRC, they had to work with him a lot on his blocking.

I hope he gets this worked out and will be playing again soon.

I know Bilbo played a series or two in the game where we hung 70 on Navy, and redshirted. I wasn't aware of it being a medical redshirt but I suppose it had to have been.

Wrights only problem is that he cant hang on to the rock to save his life.

Give him a couple of years, he will be dynamite.

"You should know that NCAA rules indicate that any competition, regardless of time, during a season counts as one of your seasons of competition in that sport. It does not matter how long you were involved in a particular competition (for example, one play in a football game, one point in a volleyball match); you will be charged with one season of competition."

He hurt the thumb on his throwing hand a couple weeks after that game. He was granted a medical redshirt. Funny part is he dressed out as an emergency backup and during warm ups he threw a much better ball than Godsey.

Godsey had an odd throwing motion, but he was accurate. Bilbo couldn't be described as an accurate passer, however purdy his throws were.

Wright played ALOT in the UGA game and made a couple tackles on special teams and had one hell of a block on a linebacker one time from the a back position. His ball handling will be secured this off season so look for him to see the field alot next year.

Didn't Marcus recover Richard Samuel's fumble on Sat? If so, I am glad we burned the redshirt

Yeah he did. If you watch the tape, he was wrapped around Samuel's legs for about 3 yards...then the ball landed in front of his face.

There is no way his RS was wasted. He threw some seriously nice blocks in the Miami and Georgia games on big plays. One was on Cox's TD.

He recovered the fumble against GA. Enough said.

Repeat: RS was not wasted.

Did you guys not see him play vs. UGA?? He laid some wood on Curren a couple of times. Knocked the SH*T out of him..
