Okay, with all the bowl talk, I think it's about time to start speculating on what bow we might make. I see four distinct possibilities of how we end our season:

7-5
8-4 with a win over VT and a loss to UGA
8-4 with a win over UGA and a loss to VT
9-3

7-5 clearly sends us west. Which of the above scenarios lands us an east coast bowl?

7-5 - Out West, no exceptions

Both 8-4 scenarios are toss ups imo.

9-3 will land us an East Coast Bowl

8-4 with a win over UGA - loss to VT should land us in the east --certainly 9-3 will.

It depends on how terrible everyone else is as well. I don't think 8-4 will send us out west - I don't see how a team like, say, Miami would jump over us for a bowl in Nashville or Charlotte.

At 7-5, we are playing with fire. I'd say it's about 60-40 we end up out west at that point.

This topic isn't even worth discussing. As usual, we are headed to another Chan Bowl playing East Saint Nobody in Outer Siberia. We'll be playing on a field of mud or on a field the vibrant color of that slush at the bottom of a Port-o-Let.

IMO a loss to UGA is more damaging than a loss to VT because it comes at the end of the season.

I think the first two scenarios send us out west, and the last two keep us in the east. It's all about how you finish with the bowl committees.

We could always discuss FACTS... but WHAT fun is THAT?

I think that we will be out west unless we win the Coastal.

Orange - pretty much no chance at this point

Gator - also very little chance to make the gator. I am not sure we will be within 1 conference loss of the ACCCG loser.

Peach - Without beating UGA, the peach has < 0 interest in us. It is also apparent that they would prefer Clemson, VT, or FSU (not so much an issue this year) over us. I'll go one step further and say that they would also take UNC or UVA over us. The only way the peach takes us is if we beat UGA and are ranked in the top 20.

Orlando - this is our best shot at a good bowl. But we have to beat UGA. If we lose to VT, our chances are pretty much shot here too. I think they would pick Miami over us, if our records finish in a similar fashion. My guess is that this bowl goes to Clemson if they are available and they don't stink.

Charlotte - the tire bowl has been the most honest of any bowl committee. They will take one of the NC teams if they are available. Either Wake or UNC will be. I doubt we will ever play in this bowl.

Music City - 8-4 will probably get us this bowl, even if we lose to UGa. That is unless UGa falls this far in SEC bowl picture, which is possible.

Boise - 7 wins and we will be here, unless UNC drops this far. Then I'll bet Butch Davis' name recognition gets them this bowl.

At large - west coast : only at 7-5, with a lose to UGa, and 8 eligible ACC bowl teams to pick from.

Bottom line, if we lose to ugag as i fully expect, we should keep our ass at home, rather than another embarrassment.

Consensus is 8-4 gets us Music City or Orlando. That's about what I expected.

UNC? How on earth are they going to a bowl?

I thought they had 3 wins with Duke and NCState left. But looking at their remaining schedule, they won't be bowling anywhere.

I would bet that given the choice between a 4-8 UNC team and a 8-4 GT team, the tire bowl would take UNC if they could.
