I know I'm going to get ripped to shreds for what I'm about to post. It is really just in fun as I know it will never happen, but I believe strongly that this idea would be a huge success for GT football.
Also, not making a commentary about Gailey's current job security just having some fun.
I believe that when GT goes to hire its next football coach that Bill O'Brien would be the man for the job. Here are the reasons.
1. Intelligence - The guy is an Ivy League Graduate.
2. He is only 37 years old and he now has experience working with one of the best coaches in NFL history, Ralph Friedgen and George O'Leary.
3. Personality - He has a great personality and does well talking to the media and fans. There is no doubt he could sell this program.
4. Recruiting - He is without a doubt one of the best recruiters we have had a GT. He knows the state and did well here.
5. Experience at GT - He knows what it takes to be successful here and he would be prepared to do what is needed to win.
Many would say that he failed once he got his OC positions at GT and Duke, but he was put in some very difficult situations; following Fridge, working with Gailey in year one, and coaching at Duke.
Call me crazy, but I really like the guy and think he would do an amazing job at GT. Just having a little fun, but does anyone else see the wisdom in my vision?
