Cutcliffe Q & A between UVA & @GT games

It is clear to me from reading all this that Cutcliffe and Duke absolutely expect to beat us on Saturday. I think this is going to be a war in the first few series. We need to punch them in the face early and take the fight out of them. Crowd needs to get into it like UGA is in town.

We’re a good football team right now. I would say we are near being a great football team, but we have a good team, which means it could go either way for us every week. We have to play our best to have a chance to win. It’s going to be harder for teams to put up double digit wins in the future.

Dayum, he is really confident. He even said flat out they should've beat Northwestern.

I didn't get that vibe at all...

Of course they think that. Why not?

Bottom line: The last 6 games in Atlanta have Tech winning by 28, 17, 15, 35, 28, 26. Cutcliffe isn't going to make that much difference in one season. We have a better coach, too, remember, and we still have better talent.

They should have beaten Northwestern. They got a TD called back on a holding penalty. Also they outgained them 472-328 on Offense.

Their game against NW was alot like our game with VT.

Question: What do all 6 of those games have in common?

Answer: They all have nothing to do with Saturday's game.

Just like every other game, if we fumble and lose the ball three times, we'll likely lose. If we lose two, it'll be close. If we lose one, we should win. If we lose zero, we romp.

And before beating UVA by 28 this year, the past six years saw Duke losing the UVA game by margins of 11, 37, 31, 20, 27, and 5. (The 5 point margin was from 2002.)

But throw all that garbage out the door and believe this simple fact: Duke is good enough to beat us this year.

:laugher::laugher::laugher:

Duke? We will smoke that a$$.

No they aren't.

This game won't even be close.

GT 41
Duke 14

We BOTH have better coaches this year. It's a wash. Expect more of the wins by 28, 17, 16. 28, 35, etc....

I agree, not necessarily because of the turnovers themselves, but because if we are turning it over that much it probably means that the offense is struggling. I don't expect multiple turnovers though, if for no other reason than because we are facing a mediocre defense.

I also think that this was in no way an instigation piece. No where in the article do I get the feeling that either of the interviewees are thinking that they are going to rip into some yellow jacket hide. But, they are trying to play up their loss to NW as a non-loss and blame it on the penalty. I do believe that the spread will be 3 scores or less and that the Jackets have somewhere around 70% chance of winning.

What's with some of you guys?? Duke wins a few games against cupcakes and all the sudden they are a good team?

Duke is Duke; therefore they suck, thus we will win...BIG. Simple logic in the end.

Answer: They all have nothing to do with Saturday's game.

Actually, it shows the disparity of talent so it does have something to do with Saturday's game because the same type of players will be on the field.

I'm not saying we can't lose to Duke, but I am saying that this game should not be close.
