yea true. don't remind me, that was probably the low point of CPJ's tenure. I was commenting more on the tendency of ESPN to declare pretty much every year that "da U" is finally back, and then they usually just end up being very mediocre

These schools with large fan bases, more eyes means more media dollars so it make sense to try and get that fan base excited. Remember at the end of the day ESPN exists solely to make money. Miami has a large, national fan base so getting them excited is good for business just the same as other perennial powers that have been down lately (Nebraska/Tennessee/USC and others).
 
Duke lost to Kansas. Remember when we lost to Kansas? Under CPJ. Fred MCGRIFF’s kid played for Kansas Then and he laughed at me about it.
 
Miami fans are almost as bad as UGA when it comes to the preseason barking.
 
Cpj beat Kansas 66-14 or similar. Even Kansas hs enough people for two schools…barely. 3 of them aren’t farmers.
