Let’s be honest, there is no way the guy who “coaches” the defense is retained and it doesn’t appear Collins will be shown the door. We aren’t poaching any other defensive coordinator from a P5 school, we could do the route of a failed head coach who has a DC background or seasoned defensive assistant coach. My list would be Jeremy Pruitt, who is now a “special defensive assistant”… could have him come in and prove he’s a good coach again before he gets another HC shot… or potentially Charles Kelly, a familiar name. Who y’all got?

I wouldn't mind taking a look at Bob Shoop. He's a defensive assistant on Miami's coaching staff currently but he's ran some good defenses in the past and is a two time finalist for the Broyles Award.

l like it, sign me up. Looks like he is semi-competent, which would be a vast improvement. But can he get on the ground during defensive drills for the social media highlight? That is a key requirement for Collins.

UAB's David Reeves, or Pitt's Randy Bates both relatively unknown, but both well thought of as DC's.

We could get a new dc but the HC is still in over his head.. the clock management alone tells me enough

Will Col

I thought he had someone helping with clock management. Why did he get rid of them?

He had to hire someone to manage the clock so he could focus on spotting the ball in the sideline. He literally does 0 in-game coaching

Glenn Spencer is available now.
He would fit right in, going by his last 2 years.
